Fair play. There are quite a few Baggies fans who are blaming the result on the ref.

There's nothing to blame the referee about.

The only decision that could be deemed as controversial was whether Lugano was pulled to the ground in the second half after giving away the penalty. In my opinion, he realised he had cocked up and therefore tried to make amends by throwing himself to the ground. I thought Clatternberg had a good game last night.

Liam seems a decent chap to me.

Cheers mate - I expect the abuse as I'm intruding on a Villa forum but out of respect and courtesy to the moderators who have been decent to me, I ignore the baiting.

Plus, I'd look a massive tit.

I'm not comfortable with you being so affable. Stop it, or least have a minor hissy over something.

If anyone hasn't seen it, here's Tel's take on the match.

Can't argue with any of that apart from saying Brunt's goal was their goal of the season. Long's opener in the game at the Hawthorns was (allegiances aside) one of the best goals i've seen in a while.

Was it about 83/84 when we had the same 4-3 score line

Was that game 3-3 at half time as well? Memory may be playing tricks on me as I saw it on video years ago, was there a Brendan Ormsby goal?

I was telling my son about that game when the score was 2-2 on Wednesday. 3-3 at half time then Ormsby got the second half winner at the Holte End. I am a bit sketchy on the first six goals but I think they scored first then we went 2-1 and 3-2 up. I think our goals may have come from Withe, Shaw and Evans and I'm pretty sure Regis and Thompson both scored for them.

I'm not sure about the 'numerous controversial refereeing decisions'.

I'm 100% certain that Villa fans weren't and wouldn't be singing about being the top team in the Midlands.

The we shall not be moved chant refers to it a bit.

It's an Albion fan, writing about the Albion. I don't expect impartiality.

That is more for the Noses benefit though.

From where I was in the upper Holte, they were "vociferous" at 0-2 but not so much at 1-2 and definitely not at 4-3

They knew what they bin up from around three minutes up until twelve minutes, then nothing uptil they knew what they bin again on the 40 minute mark.

They must have forgot after that.
