MON's last stand really....we lost the cup final and the league form predictably tailed off from March.

I have found memories of 09/10 actually...first time we won at Old Trafford since the 80s, our first win at Anfield since I think the 90s also happened that season and we beat Chelsea at home. A cup final appearance and we could've had an Fa cup final one aswell with a bit more luck in the semi (and Pompey would've awaited us).

If only. I think that season was our best chance of top 4, we finally had the team. My god have we suffered since for not taking those chances.

As for the game, yep great night. I was ridiculously confident going into that game, even when Blackburn went 2 up I still expected us to go through as they were a bog standard mid table team and we just had too much quality for them, didn't expect 6-4 though!

But it certainly does seem a good 4 years ago now.

That means it's about 12 months since that dark, dark night.

How times change. I'd always promised my son I'd take him to see the Villa in a Wembley final and that was the night I knew it was going to happen! That 20mins of the all sides of the ground singing Que Serra Serra after the final whistle was fantastic! Worth all the disappointments and just what being a Villa supporter is all about (every now and then!).

Don't worry I've already informed Chico of the exact time of the upcoming anniversary.

I think Guzan is a reverse Samson. He had hair then and seemed so weak at crosses. Now he has lost more he doesn't have the same problem.
