GB 2-1 up with Andy Murray just started against Sam Querrey (never heard of him) and is 2-0 in first set to win the tie.

Second set gone into a tie-break also!

Sam Querrey won the 2nd set 7-6 (7-3). Murray run ragged in that tiebreak.
so one set all now.

Finally Murray gets going 3-0 up in 3rd including 2 breaks of serve.

I would think we stand quite a good chance against Italy? Switzerland a lot tougher if both Wawrinka and Federer play. A  very good effort by the team.

I do think the Davis Cup is one of the most pointless competitions in sport. They should insist that you have different players in every match.

Qtr Final of Davis Cup away in Italy underway losing 1-0 currently but Andy Murray on court at moment 2-0 in sets but 3-1 down in
3rd.

1-1 Murray won his singles 8-4, 7-5, 6-3
Was 3-1 down in 3rd then won 5 successive games.
He is likely now to be back on court in 90 minutes for doubles.

I do think the Davis Cup is one of the most pointless competitions in sport. They should insist that you have different players in every match.

I think to be a genuine "team" event you should have to have at least three players in it.

I'd maybe merge it with the Fed Cup and have it so players play a set rather than a match, with a tie-break only when it gets to 10-10.

Nine mens singles matches with three men all playing each other, nine womens singles in the same format, and three doubles in the three different formats. So, basically best of 21 sets.
