Them scarves are  a symbol of the "new supporter"
They may aswell wear a t-shirt "look at me, its my first game"
Forgivable if you are naive young kid, otherwise I wish they would disappear. The scarves and the twats.

If only one of the "new supporters" you lot are moaning about decides to keep coming to games, then surely that's a success.

Back in 1996 I was one of these "new supporters". I'd never been to Villa Park before, in fact I'd never seen a professional football match before.

If I'd have experienced the attitude than some of you have towards potential fans, I probably would never have returned (and look what words of wisdom and cutting insights into sport and popular culture you'd have all missed out on   ;) )

And they are always sold by people with a Manc or Scouse accent.

This is what I always think of when I see those scarves.

When I first started going to the Villa in 1984, they sold half Villa, half Rangers hats in the club shop.

Nope, each of these nu-supporters merely adds to my sense of pain and disillusionment. Half and half scarves should be banned along with santa hats, jester hats and oversized foam hands.

I'd sooner we played to half empty stadiums

Last night saw more Oriental / Far eastern people as i have seen for years at VP - it was bizzare

I seen a car load of them  before the game getting out of their car decked in scarves and hats.  Arsenal supporters club from Manchester. Screwed up glory hunting at its best.

Oi! Not all of us Manc based Supporters are glory hunters!!!!

What about half Villa, half Celtic or Rangers ski hats?

They're perfectly acceptable.

What's wrong with a claret & blue Aston Villa scarf, it's done the job for over 100 years.

I wonder how many Villa/Albion half and half scarfs they'll sell later this month.

Half scarfs should be outlawed, banned, made illegal.

I would also ban all of the following.

Christmas decorations in November.
Chinese lanterns.
Sales in shops.
Reality TV programmes.
The Conservative Party.
Tattooes. (Military and bodily)
Club 18-30 (Is it still going?)
McDonalds.
IKEA
The Merry Hill Centre
Toll roads.
Michael Gove (see above).
Rory McGrath
Speed Cameras
Sunday shopping
Traffic Wardens
Cilla Black
Sky Sports
Call Centres
Mormons
Junk Mail
Unsolicited phone calls
Spam e mail
24 hour rolling news networks
American football.
The Williams sisters.
Showjumpers.
David Mellor (See above) He is the sort of `celebrity`football fan arsehole who would take his kids (does he have any kids? God I hope not, I pity the poor woman who had his sweaty paws bearing down on her and impregnating her)  to football and buy them a half scarf to wear.
Richard Branson and his space rockets.
Sarah Millican.
That bloke who says just as the teams come out "Lets get behind the lads in claret and blue. Aston Villaaaaa ...."

....and many many more.
