Good article, why on earth would anyone want to taint the claret and blue scarf is a mystery and a much more worrying one than the signging of Holt. The signing too is a strange one but you mentioned the Cyril Regis signing on another thread which was similar.

Half way through the window now so I do hope we sort out our midfield very soon. Also with Ron's injury worries and Bakers ability to get a beating we are woefully short at the back. To be honest if we could have another 2 good signings in there it could help Lowton and Luna stretch the channels more.

If they sold Villa scarfs that were "Glass half full - Glass half empty" think they would make a fortune.

Or Holt and Hoolihan?

The only legitimate use for a half and half scarf is the public hanging of the person wearing it.

Good article Dave.

9 defeats in all competitions this season

The signing of Grant Holt is of equal measure (and I hope I am proved wrong) to that of Robert Rosario, when he was signed by Cloughie towards the end of his reign.

The only possible exception to half and half scarves which could be worn by Villa fans is one which would include Athletico Bilbao. As posted on a different thread, I saw one at Leicester before Christmas in advance of their League cup QF v Man Cit-eh. I couldn't get my fuppin breath..

Another thing that annoys me, similar to half-and-half scarf wankers... Villa fans desperate to take photos of Arsenal players when they're taking a corner. Or worse, video recording when the opposition have a free-kick in a dangerous area. Why you'd want to relive a (potential) goal for the opposition is beyond my comprehension.

Last night saw more Oriental / Far eastern people as i have seen for years at VP - it was bizzare

The half scarve thing came about (IIRC) when we were in the Europa cup under MON. I first remember seeing one when we played (and beat) ajax at home. I thought then that they were a nice memento of a venture into Europe - for league games they are just gash

You should have seen that crowd outside the players entrance after the game. I have mentioned it before on here. The visiting players are boarding the coach and there is a group of people making a noise like a load of squealing pigs. They really are the most sickening bunch of people that I have ever encountered. It needs seeing to be believed. You can hear it right across the car park. They are not all lads with their Dads either.

I can better that.
I had a twat sat next to me last night who spent most of the night 'watching' the game through the screen of his Samsung smartphone. When he wasn't doing that, he was tapping away with his thumbs on the same screen.

Good article Dave.

I seen a car load of them  before the game getting out of their car decked in scarves and hats.  Arsenal supporters club from Manchester. Screwed up glory hunting at its best.

Them scarves are  a symbol of the "new supporter"
They may aswell wear a t-shirt "look at me, its my first game"
Forgivable if you are naive young kid, otherwise I wish they would disappear. The scarves and the twats.

I don't mind the half and half scarves, they should be for the people who don't go to many games, etc.  If you'd travelled from the other side of the world (or at least far away) to see Aston Villa for the first time I get the idea of buying a souvenir of the day and I have no problem with it.  Where I have problems is when it's people who live nearby and go to games regularly.
