We're signing a pub player.

To add some noise to the dressing room. I just hope the move reignites something within him from a playing side. It is possible the moving to Wigan was just a very bad move and he didn't have the enthusiasm for playing in front of an empty stadium.

On the positive side, he's a better option than Jordan Bowery to come off the bench

A 33 year old who can't get in Wigan's team and who appears to have 'fitness issues' is better than we've already got - and by implication what we're likely to get to play up front this transfer window.

Sensible reasoning all round.
