Decent hit from Westwood.

If you think that was a decent hit by Westwood, then Bruce Rioch would have had you creaming your pants.

Anyone think Benteke should come off and Heskey should come on?

I thought he was on already.
We are an embarrassment, all these years to spend wisely and develop the squad.  Lurching from one shit decision to another, Randy needs to give Lambert money to spend on players and decent wages or we are fucked.
Obvious aint it?

Randy needs to give the manager money to spend on players - agreed , but that manager should not be lambert.

I am not so sure, not many managers could manage this crop of players with any degree of success. I would like to see Lambert given proper money to spend on proper players.

He has proper players Fergal and he can't get them to play, what makes you think he can get any new ones to play?
I am not saying he has done a brilliant job but how many of these players are good enough?  Would you be happy with this squad in the Championship?

Were a League 1 outfit, if we survive in the Championship we will have done well.

I think the VP crowd are too apathetic to voice any displeasure at what's going on. A half arsed boo after the final whistle confirms how far we have fallen, how low the expectations are.  Sorry state of affairs for a proud old club.

Aston Villa has been playing in the highest league for 103 seasons. That is a legacy that demands that you find a way to honor it if you are in charge. This is not it!

Can anyone explain why the ref stopped the game while we had possession when Monreal went down? Thought it was only head injuries or when a player was inert that that was supposed to happen, not when he's waving his hand

What do I really think about Faulkner?   If I could buy the Villa I would not sack him.   I would have him cleaning the windows of Aston Hall (zero hours of course).

Holt? Really? Fucking hell.

Mind you, more threat than Benteke at the moment.

Grant Holt?  Really?  First I've heard and if true that's the death throes right there.

Honest question...

Would we better or worse off at this point in time if Doug was still in charge?

We might have done a bit better this half, but we offer absolutely no threat at all.

He signed 17 of them though.
On a budget?  Don't get me wrong I think he has made his mistakes both tactically and in the transfer market, mistakes that would have got him the sack elsewhere.
I suppose I just don't want to be one of those clubs that chop and changes manager every season.  I think we need stability and to get that Randy needs to back the manager with the sort of money a premiership club needs.
