However, you have to be able to see that lack of possession invites pressure that we are not equipped to deal with. We are a couple of players away from being a solid mid-table side. Instead, we are mid-table with a better than average chance of sliding into trouble."Better than average." How do you work that out? I consider the bottom 8 being in trouble. Would you put money on us finishing in the top 8 or the bottom 8 as thing stands now?

When points are handed out for possession we should worry.
We're in a great position now. Mid-table despite not playing very well, or even looking like professional footballers at times with some of the sloppy control and passing. However there's places in the top half of the table which are ripe for the taking. Southampton are struggling to maintain their early form. That place could be ours. If we get some composure from somewhere, we can play football. We showed that today (very briefly). Better movement, more composure. Some good signings will make that come easier. And if Benteke gets a goal soon, I think the floodgates will open for him. We should really be going for it. The quicker we separate ourselves from the toss at the bottom, the better. Look upwards from here on in, not downwards. This was a massive win going into a tough double header. A bit more quality and a little experience coming in and it'll help us no end. Lets get some of our young talent in the 18 for the Sheff game too. Johnson, Robinson and Helenius need some game time. Benteke and Weimann need a break until the next league games (though Weimann needs dropping in truth).

I'm most happiest for our kid (Des Little) goes to every match everywhere and is probably paying £3 for a can of coke and £2 for a packet of crisps on the coach as we speak. The reality however is that this win is merely papering over the cracks, we are still flattering to deceive and one again with only 35% of the possession we are living dangerously (living on our nerves).15 points to get between now and May and I for one will be in a better place. The reality is that we won. - YepThe reality is that we got 100% of the points. - Yep againThe reality is that no matter how good the result someone will always try to find a downside to it. - Hat trick!

We are 6 points off 18th, 2 points off 13th and 10 points off 8th. I can't predict where we will be a the end of the season, I'm talking about now and what we have seen up until now.
We've now lost once on New Years Eve or New Years Day in twenty years.

Isn't a 'better than average chance of sliding into trouble' predicting what will happen in the future?
