With the current injuries Lambert's other signings are being shown for what they are. Not very good.

It is the balance. We need  9 or 10 quality players to pull it all together.

Fixed.

Lambert wouldn't know what to do with them.

I know at the back we're shockingly shite but if we had a decent midfielder Benteke could of been in 3 times

There are no surprises here. It's Man United. This is what we do against them. In some ways it's better to lose the game in the first twenty minutes than to have it snatched away in the last 2 minutes. But in the long term, as long as we refuse to pay the wages of proven quality players, this is what we'll be facing up to.

For once our passing of the ball is far from the big problem here. I suspect Westwood and sylla haven't given it away yet. Alby doing ok. The problem is clearly elsewhere

It's the manager, I'm afraid.

The only hope for this match is that Utd take their foot off the gas and just start taking it easy. That's the only way we'll avoid an absolute twotting.

Shows the lack of depth in our squad as Baker shouldnt be anywhere near the first team.

Shouldn't be in the squad mate, same with Albrighton, lovely lad and has looked ok today but he's been crap for 2 years and didn't pull up any trees in the few games for Wigan in the Championship yet he's brought back into the fold as we desperately look for someone to do something to get us going, that's how bad it is right now.

I'd say these last 210 minutes against Southampton, Fulham and these glory hunting kent wankers have been some of the worst football I've seen the Villa play in 25 years. The Soton robbery is just papering over massive cracks, as it the midtable ''we're 11th'' shit.

Kea included.

Midfield not giving the defence any support. Kea lost januzaj for the first goal and Welbeck was through there because the midfield had so much space to pick the pass

Still it could be destiny that we're going to reverse things and come back from two down in the second half. Maybe? Please?

Think we need to get kea off. Possibly Gardner??

Whats so frustrating its not as if we did not try and fix it in the summer. Jores Okore looked a great player and him and Ron could have been very good. The problem is Concrete Ron is more like Tissue Paper Ron and with the pair out we aint good enough back there. Maybe we should have thought about a loan when Okore got crocked.

Albrighton's been absolutely fine today. Luna, Baker and KEA haven't and have been targeted.

I've had enough of this spending buttons for lower league players thing. It clearly either doesn't work or we've got the balance wrong.

Too many players who simply are not good enough yet.

It's the balance that's wrong, I think. When you only have a handful of experienced, proven pros in the entire squad, a couple of injuries will destroy you. We've lost Vlaar (and Okore) and there's nobody to carry the other defenders, none of whom are individually good enough yet for this level. Although it's probably also got something to do with Lambert's fixation with full-backs whose defensive postioning would have an U12s coach doing his nut.
