Weimann has been truly awful today.

poor season for me
I don't think he's as good as the buzz either. Playing persistently out of position doesn't help him. He's not a wide forward. He has to be playing up through the middle if he's got any chance at this level.

Lambert's post match will be interesting. He's become a master at spin, and dramatic draws and wins help. But when you lose in the much the same manner as the games won without the help of those goals, well it's like walking naked in the street on a cold day trying to convince everyone you're fully dressed and warm.

No presser is ever going to ask him a clever enough question to give us some insight though. There won't be any questions about the system, or lack of substitutions or creativity, or why so many long balls. It'll just be 'how do you feel to lose' and 'Benteke didn't play well, are you concerned'.

It's odd, I think individually Herd and Clark have been two of our better players. But the team as a whole has looked very shakey at the back.

I think this second half is pretty good evidence of why we don't play 442. We're not good enough. Westwood and Delph just aren't physicallly strong enough. And we don't keep the ball or create well enough to warrant that degree of risk.

Who have we got on the bench that can really make a difference?

What other PL teams would the likes of Westwood, Tonev,Herd, KEA or Weimann get into?
I think some of those would struggle to get into Championship sides.
It says it all that Sidwell and Parker have looked a class apart today.

Excluding the GK, this has to be the worst defence we've fielded in the prem league. Its breaking new records for shitness year on year in recent times, we lose a promising youngster for the season together with the best of a bad bunch being out for a couple of games and we get this lot. I think Bacunas a good player mind, but he's no fullback.

I'm not convinced by anything he has done since he's been here. We have the worst squad and play the worst football I've witnessed since supporting villa. All his doing, he is a chump

I can take losing but not when we don't even look like we've got a clue.

Our passing is fucking shocking.

Very frustrating.

We simply lack enough players of premiership quality.

Which also tells you that teams can turn it around and start to play well. So can we. From being 10th at the start of the day with sides below us losing games one defeat however poorly we have played doesn't equal a relegation battle. Now if we also stop scoring also then we're fucked.
