We are 15-16 months in. We have 19 points from 14. United are 3 in front of us. We won a game through grit and determination tonight thankfully. In 2 years time we will be a much better side I am sure, but right now we need to get points on the board and grow as a side over that time.

Well done lads. How many goals had Southampton conceded at home before today?

If nobody else has got this, it's 2

Next up on match of the day Southampton, who until tonight had only conceded 2 goals at home. Our man at saint Mary's, Guy Nobody.

Before tonight Southampton had conceded less than 3 goals in 6 home games. Tonight they conceded more than 2 in 1 game.
I just thought I ought to publish some stats.

nice thing about MOTD, 3 Villa goals and they can't possibly make it look more one-sided than it actually was.

Now that we've established that Southampton have only let in 2 at home before tonight, could someone tell me why Barry didn't take the penalty?

So four of our best five players last season (Lowton, Westwood, Benteke, Weimann) are all struggling for form and we're picking up points - I'll take that. Imagine how good we're going to be if and when they come good!

The fact that negativity is outweighing elation on here makes me a sad panda

I know, Dan, but it was the top division at the time and (cough) I did remember it. (Well, my dad's reaction) Just not the scores.
Still, what's a mere Murdoch £millions manufactured technicality between fellow fans, mate?

Were all those goals snow related ?
It was a bad winter, maybe the keepers were frozen to the spot  ;)

You know, I have a vague memory of the winter of 63 being incredibly bad, now that you mention it. :)
Didn't affect us though, my family were living in the tropics at the time.
We just listened to the World Service and thought, poor devils...

Wrong end of 1963. The bad winter was 62/63 after new year. Those results are 63/64.

Albion five points off the drop zone radio wm.

surely according to Radio WM, we are 9 points from being relegated and Albion are 12 points off a CL spot?

It's all well and good when we win with this style. It can be easily brushed under the carpet. When we lose or labour at home though, people get understandably irate.

VP season ticket holders should just spend their money on away games.

Maybe the snow lasted
