Sunderland are doing a great job of closing us down. Our lack of technique really doesn't help. Delph and Westwood have played well, and Weimann has looked lively. Bacuna is not a full back.

As always we give the ball up very easily. You have to win to justify the way we play. Unless something changes or we get lucky we're not going to win.

Lowton on for El Ahamadi please. Give Benteke 15 minutes, if he's still strolling around shrugging get Kozak on.

It was pretty even Sunderland just had all there opportunities in the last 10 mins. Gabbys been ok, as has Weimann.

I wish he would start with Lowton to be honest and push Bacuna on wing .

433 rarely works at home - need Lowton on and push bacuna forward into midfield - Weimann has looked well off the pace - really poor half - lets hope we deliver in the 2 nd half as we usually play for 45 minutes.

Benteke and Agbonlahor have been awful. What's wrong with them.

carrying a bit of timber it seems and Weimann maybe aswell.

After Baker I cant think of a player in our squad with a worse first touch than Weimann.

Disappointing really and Sunderland clearly the better side as the half wore on.

Hopefully they will end up regretting that sitter. We are poor in quite a few areas but our lack of presence in midfield is worrying. Sunderland look very dangerous on the counterattack and Clark has made quite a few key interceptions.

Still think if we can score first they will collapse but looks like it will take a fluke or a mistake for us to score today.

Id bring Lowton on at the break see if he can add anything going forward. Bacuna isnt going well today either so either hook him or get Kea off.

The worrying thing is our lack of a cutting edge. We aren't creating enough chances from open play, and Benteke looks like he's been drugged. Dare I say it? He looks a bit like he can't be arsed any more...

Has anyone worked out what our game plan is?

Lull them into a false sense of security first half, second half Sunderland think the game is there for the taking and commit men forward. We reveal the real Villa and tear them a new mackem arsehole.
