BBC sport have been up his arse for years. It wouldn't surprise me if they had the casting vote on where the new BBC centre would be built.

Feel really sorry for Chris Froome. Wiggo stole his thunder really, but I think his achievement is more remarkable than Leigh Halfpenny, for example. No offence to Halfpenny, but he was part of a team that got more than enough recognition. I don't think people realise what it takes to win a Tour de France.

As a fan of Welsh rugby, I must admit that I'm a little taken aback by Leigh Halfpenny finishing 2nd.  Froome's achievement was great, but Mo Farah following up double Olympic gold with double golds at the Worlds and breaking a world record this year surely deserved to be in the running.

Farah is unfortunate, but so is Froome - it's incredible that neither of them got into the Top 3.

A double world athletics champion and a Tour de France winner!

And to think not so long back, we were giving them to the likes of Greg Rusedski (beating Tim Henman into second place) and Zara Phillips.  Damon Hill won it twice - but only won the World Championship once.

The year Ryan Giggs got it for being Ryan Giggs was a low.

I was enjoying it last night and then had other things to watch so recorded the last hour. So happy I did. Spun over a load of crap that I wasn't interested in, started to watch the Ferguson thing but I couldn't take the Man United wankfest so I spun over that too.

How on earth is that Januzaj in the young sportsmen of the year running?

A pretty blatant attempt to get him to commit his international future to England.

"Look how much we all adore you Adnan. That game you played in was really great. you even scored two goals against the mighty Sunderland. Please play for England, we have absolutely fuck all young talent of our own"

If you want Alex Ferguson, Sir Booby and the rest to turn up to a BBC event then you need to do something for Yanited.

I hope next year's event is held in Beijing, the spiritual home of English football.

Incredible woman, quite how Alan Hansen kept it together was beyond me.

I remarked to the wife that Hansen was wobbling. In a wobbly voice.

The year Ryan Giggs got it for being Ryan Giggs was a low.

Or the year Ryan Giggs got it because Ryan Giggs hadn't already won it.
