Remember the FA cup game up there, it was the last time I went on one of the old Football Specials. A bone-shaking train journey

I went to both games, during the FA Cup tie two rapscallions in the main stand kept pointing at me and doing the cut-throat gesture.
I was only 16 and shitting it, so much so I took my coat off as I left the ground to avoid detection and was relieved to get back on the Bowens coach.

Mind you it was only parked about 100 yards from the gate so it wasn't exactly a walk of death.

I was at the game, as I was for most of the away games that season. I don't remember those rather fetching yellow tracksuit tops though.

Remember this game because I had just split with my then girlfriend and was moping around at home rather than going to the game. I think my old man said something along the lines of there is plenty more fish in the sea. 26 years later that girlfriend is still my wife! Ahhh, I hear you say.

It does worry me how I remember so much about lifes trial and tribultins and their connections to Villa matches!

F me, the quality of the recording is abysmal. I assumed the first frame was the game when they were just doing the warm up. Wonder why there was so many balls on the pitch!
