Might remind them of the "million years ahead" claims. All I can say is
1. We were resting our better players in the first half - as we do that against the weaker teams.
2. It was a bit like playing a lower league team in the cup, they played with one up front, ran about a lot trying to subdue superior opposition, got a couple of breakaway goals following poor defending. In the second half class overcame spirited underdogs. etc.
3. How many empty seats would there be at Villa Park if we were playing a cup final?
4. One team making progress - one team playing at their best against injury hit opposition, disappointed that they didn't win as they need points to avoid slipping down the league.
5. Can't wait to stuff them in the replay.
