Just said he'll be back playing in 2-3 months. Good news but I hope they don't rush him back!

So potentially back late March early April? Could be crucial if we are in trouble.

If he had full, reconstructive surgery i have serious reservations about him coming back this soon. See what happened to Laursen as an example.

I'd rather he misses the rest of the season than we try and be clever and bring him back too soon.

Was thinking the same. Four months for an ACL does seem very short.

I once did both my ACLs. Was back playing in 3 days.

There is an article on the official website suggesting he should be back by this time next month.

I do not see how this would be a good idea; these things usually take a good year to heal and I would be worried to see him out there playing some six months or so after injuring it. I think he should be shelved until next season...

He isn't built like a normal human being though. He looks like he has eaten Benteke.

Maybe he is a fast healer, or maybe he is being rushed back as we weren't funded to get another CB in as cover. But I would be surprised if the medics / Dr would be bullied by any manager to force a player to play before they allowed it.

With all due respect pelty unless you're a world renowned knee surgeon specializing in the ACL area I think the medical team will know exactly when and if he's ready or not. We tend to judge what's best based on experience.  Specialists base it on know how, latest medical advancements and the Patients specific healing ability.

Wouldn't that decision be made in conjunction with the club doctors? I would also imagine he'd be used quite sparingly as he builds up his match fitness.

If he plays this season, it's a bonus as we all pretty much wrote him off.  I trust the medical team to get this one right, but personally if there were any doubt I'd advocate not taking any risks.

I agree, let's just make sure when he comes back it's the right time.
