I remember that Liverpool fan who used to come on here and seemed decent. Then suddenly went a bit mental on a thread for no real reason that I can remember. A thread about hooligans or hooligan books iirc. And I don't mean that Redman fella.

Was that the guy with Toxteth in his user name?

No, you're thinking of Toxteth O'Grady (USA).

Pointless the other day, the final round, the category was "people who appeared in the University Challenge episode of The Young Ones".

I don't think I've ever had so many pointless answers. The obvious ones, ie the usual cast, plus Emma Thompson, Ben Elton, Fry and Laurie etc, but also Griff Rhys Jones as Bambi, and Mel Smith, as the security guard who wouldn't let Vyvyan in with his mascot "rabbit".

"That's not a rabbit, that's a pig" etc etc.

They were almost all pointless. As was Alexi Sayle, who was in this one as Garibaldi holding up the train.

.. and Motorhead performing Ace of Spades.

Didn't this episode win an award?  Still one of my faves and and great start to the Second Series.

I went for Alexei Sayle as I presumed a lot of people would forget everything apart from the actual University Challenge bit.

I enjoyed the Young Ones at the time but tried watching an episode a couple of years ago and didn't think it aged well at all.

Anyway, that Bunny was a cock, are we agreed?

Went to a quiz on Friday after watching Pointless, and one of the questions was 'who did Scumbag College beat in the Bambi episode of the Young Ones?' I was raging I didn't get an extra point for putting "Oxbridge".

I did a pub quiz and got the answer to the question- 'What was the name of the hamster in The Young One's?',  I could remember SPG, but took me a few rounds until Special Patrol Group popped into my head. Not bad considering I was probably about 1 when they aired.
