I quite like it when oppo supporters come on here it adds a different perspective to the discussion. Lets not jump down his throat too much.

Even after the shit he put on his own forum about us? Anyway, he's another perspective from a genuinely decent Stripey.

In all honesty I've no problem with Liam. He came on here and was gracious and polite (unless I missed a post or two). What he puts on his own forum is his business. At the end of the day he's a fan of one of our main rivals, so once he gets back to home turf he's hardly going to sing our praises, and he probably doesn't like the Villa that much. In terms of his conduct on here, no complaints and if he wants to do the same next season, I for one wouldn't have a problem. We get wind up merchants on here, but he came and behaved himself.

After all if any of us were to venture out, for any reason to a Smethwick forum the least we could do is behave ourselves. Back on our own patch here we're then quite entitled to call them small time and everything else.

Yeah, I didn't find anything that infuriating in his attitude either.  So what if he would love to see us fall flat on our faces?  It's up to the Villa to make sure we don't, and then we'll be the ones laughing.  And that's what happened.

but I really really want to finish higher than them this season,

not because its just another place higher but because i'm sick of the twats actually believing they are better than us and its going to last long term,
yes they have had a couple of decent seasons and finished above us, so they can crow,
but fuck me lets just finish higher and stop them bleating on

So it's fine for him to come on here, be polite to us, slag us off on his own forum, then when somebody disagrees with him on here he comes out with the usual double standards they always revert to and it's still okay?

We will. I think the last 2 results will have really wounded them and they'll fall apart. I'm not sure how many points we'll get this year but shouldn't need to be too many to finish above them.

I've had a bet with a mate that we will. He reckon's they will. Whoever's wrong is paying for the other's ticket for Spurs last away game. I'll have a cheap day I reckon.

Get above them this weekend and stay above them for the remainder.  Beat them in Jan convincingly and take that young up and coming star off them too, then, draw them in the FA cup, knock them out and go on and win it.

Say nothing but exude smugness and arrogance.

That should do it.

Has he stepped out of line on H&V? If he's having a pop on his own forum, so be it, that's up to him. Smethwick fans will just perennially love having moan about us, the same as the Blose. Deep down they all know what the midlands pecking order has been, is, and will be. The odd anomaly doesn't change anything, and that's why they'll always revel more in getting one up on us, compared to us when we get one over on them. We won't hear from him again (if we do) until the reverse fixture.

We've had a few respectful fans from other clubs pop on here briefly. If they then go back and start taking the piss it doesn't concern me. I don't really like any other club besides us, while a good number I've a fairly strong dislike of, I'd imagine most fans are similar. To most smethwick fans we'll be strongly disliked, but if they come on here and show a bit of humility and respect then it doesn't bother me.

If I visited another forum for the same reasons as say Liam did, to garner a consensus on the upcoming game. I wouldn't go in rocking the boat or taking the piss. If said club was a team like Utd, Chelsea, or one of our oiky local rivals, then I'd soon be back to pouring a bit of scourn on those clubs back in the confides of H&V.

I think with a good spine of Guzan, Vlaar, Delph and Benteke up top, we've got the edge on them. Their flair players are pretty inconsistent. Amalfitano is a decent player on his day, as is Sessegnon, but how often is their day? Long isn't close to being a 15-20 goal striker. He's like Gabby to be fair. Works hard, occasionally (like monday) he'll look quality and he'll net a goal or two, but he'll never be prolific or consistent enough.

I think they'll struggle at some point because the lack of a goalscorer will be telling. We also have to remember that they're level on points, but we've had the tougher start.

Much also depends on what both clubs do in Jan. If they get a decent forward they'll be better. Likewise if we get a classy midfielder, we'll get a leg up.

Are you happy to read this, for a start? And remember that all the time he was being nice and polite on here, he was slagging us with his little friends.

It's something no matter how many times it gets explained you will never understand it.

We've lived having to suffer your arrogance, the looking down on us and forever letting us know just how "small" we are and how "big" you are.

It means something to us because it is hilarious watching the big brother of the region finally being knocked off their perch. You have a good history and your expectations are naturally much higher than ours, but we'll laugh at seeing your side fail to meet your high expectations which lets be honest - may, at times, be slightly over the top.

If you would have had the school days that I had, just maybe, just maybe, you might understand. We're obsessed with our club - but we'll take great delight in watching you fail because we've had your successes rammed down our throats for years on end.

Unless you're an Albion fan or a bluenose you'll never understand it - you'll just claim we're small time and obsessed until you're blue in the face

That's fine by me, carry on.

On a personal level I don't really mind Blues, Albion or Walsall winning as long as it's not against us. Just don't really get that worked up about them either way.

Honestly Dave, when he was on here being nice etc, I still expected him to go back to his Baggies forum and start moaning about the Villa. If he came on here and continually moaned about us it would be a different matter, but it doesn't bother me that much. I can see why it would piss people off to be fair, but we can only control what happens on here. I certainly wouldn't want to ban any rival fans completely from the site, not even the odd Smethwick or Bluenose...as long as they behave while their on our turf.
Nothing he said was too surprising, or insulting its just there's something about our small time rivals ingrained in most of them that thinks we rub their nose in it. The truth is the only time we ever bring up anything like the Euro Cup in 82 etc, is when they ask for it. Not to get too playground about it, but more often than not, they start it.

He could have have said worse to be fair, and a lot of their fans probably would have. He put a point across without getting personal or at least breaking any of the site rules (as far as I know anyhow). I'm sure he'll have repeated that statement on his own site, probably with more vitriol.
