The Seals thing perfectly defines the current rivalry. Most heated amongst those of a certain age (mid 40s I guess and older) who remember the days of 70s and 80s when our rivalry was at it's peak...and the new ones (from their side) who know what they are...and copy the jibes of their elders (but don't know why).

Its only original because no one has else has ever been stupid enough to think of such an unfunny jibe before. The fact that over several pages no-one here can actually explain why they think we are "seals" shows how un-cutting edge it is.

The stand in question was knocked down 13 years ago. News travels fast in Smethwick.

Seals is witty...just like we are witty for referring to them as "dirty c**ts" for breaking Alex Cropley's leg.

As a 40-something from Smethwick I want us to win this match more than any other each season...but I fear we won't.

On a Chelsea forum a few years back they said that 'six thousand seals were decending on Stamford bridge to the carling cup game'
We are well known you know!
2-1 Villa Win

Back from run, quick shower and back out to the pub! Seasoned contributors to the match thread know I should be out in the garden for this one tending clematis as that always brings us luck but it's a bit dark and cold for that. Be warned, I can't remember the last time I saw us win when watching it in a pub...
