I am heading to the Ads for about 4/5. There is nowhere around the ground to drink. Sat in a hotel in Liverpool doing a speed awareness course, before safely driving down to Brum.

I've been on one of those, £90 and all that, for doing 32 in a 30 mile zone (I'm not complaining for one second by the way!). It certainly abused me of my stereotype that everyone breaking the speed limit is a BMW driver like me or a white van man. I was sat next to two of the poshest old dears you could ever wish to meet!

If we were playing Small Heath I wouldn't sleep tonight.

I got text at 7.55 this morning off a mate who said he'd hardly slept. He hates them with a passion.

Usual run round Chichester tonight for me, pop home for a quick bath, and then back into town to watch it with a drink and a meal in the pub. Unlike Spurs a couple of weeks back, at least I won't have to put up with any tossers' condescending comments about my club. In fact, I suspect I may well be the only person watching it at all which is great in my book (just in case we do lose as I can slope off unnoticed rather than feeling like decking some gobby opposition fan who has been irritating the life out of me the whole evening!)

woke at 4.50am and watched this seasons Villa goals with a cuppa.
3-1 Villa, Bacuna with a screamer of a free kick, Benteke with a blistering header and Benteke with a power shot from just inside the box.
Bring it on, really looking forward to tonight's game even if i am only watching it on the telly.

Just one thought about this 'pride of the Midlands' rhubarb...does it only apply if they win tonight? What happens if we win at Villa Park? Do we get to wear a sash or something?

Was it mr w ?
Blues to me is a huge game with the build up to match - Albion are nothing more than a game against stoke or southampton to me - just another poxy little club.

Pride of the midlands bollocks aside, and ignoring silly geographic arguments, this is the oldest local derby in the world, surely?

We played the Albion in 3 FA Cup finals before Man United even existed. Historically, this is as big a it gets for Villa and Albion.

Imagine Sky wanking themselves up into frenzy if Manchester, Liverpool or London had 2 local rivals going back as far as us and FC Smerrick?

I don't think sky could or would give a toss about anything that happened before 1992.

The only way Sky will pay any attention Chico to this derby, would be if the same happens as what happened atnthe Sty or B6 10 years ago when they must have been shocked by what they unleashed with their evening kick offs.

Just been to the weigh in at the pub.

My questioning of the leniency of Dowd towards fouls in the Merseyside Derby compared to what might happen tomorrow night was deemed to be me "getting my excuses in early", we were were lucky when we won the European Cup and I really hate Sandwell apparently despite the fact that I will watch the game with many of their fans tomorrow. One said that he wouldn't hang about if they got beat, I said I would if we did.

If we were playing Small Heath I wouldn't sleep tonight.

Exactly my feelings.

Must be a south Brum thing but, compared to Small Heath, I genuinely could not give one tenth of one single shit about Albion.

I actually think Albion are a much bugger club than Small Heath, they're just utterly irrelevant to me.

Freudian slip?

I really don't see what the fuss is all about. Albion are a decent small to medium size club who have done well to stay in the top flight for mor than a season this time around. However to think they are our rivals is just plain silly. They have never been never will be. Let them enjoy  any little bit of glory that comes their way such as the historic will at Villa park a couple of sesons ago. They are harmless really!

They were bigging up yesterday's game by billing it as Manchester United's first ever visit to the Cardiff City Stadium. As that will apply to a number of other clubs I look forward to them all being hyped equally dramatically.
