As I said before, the context of the boo is understandable. Shit home record, 7 hours without a goal, failing to take the game to a lowly opponent and, most importantly perhaps, Tonev BLASTING the ball high and wide just before half time when he cut have put a £30m striker clean through on goal.

With some of the results and performances at home Lambert should be kissing the feet of the supporters that are turning up.

If he can't see why people are beginning to be vent some frustration then he is unbelievably naive.

I don't think lambert has any problem with the fans and would expect he feels the fans have in general been superb - a couple of people on this thread making mountains out of molehills .

Fans booed, the manager commented on it, as did I. Its not making a mountian out of anything, its discussing an issue.

No thanks. I don't like the idea of Lambert doing that however he can polish my shoes!

No issue whatsoever in my view - you have taken lamberts comments out of context and made a big deal of a few people showing their frustration.
There is no problem with villa fans and no problem with lamberts views on the way he has been backed .

People pay hard earned money to watch their team - please don't tell them how to support .
The thread was started to how great villa support is - not to have a pop at a few fans for showing frustration after a poor passage of play and 7 hours without scoring - we all love the club and want success.

Lambert appreciates the fans and the backing -

Paul Lambert reckons Aston Villa should thrive on the expectation at Villa Park rather than fear playing in front of their own supporters.

Lambert understands the frustrations of the claret and blue faithful who jeered the team as they left the field at half-time.

“One thing I can never do is be critical of the Aston Villa supporters,” he said.

“They’ve been fantastic for us and if you lose games then you have to accept it, it’s part of the game.

“The crowd since I’ve been here have been excellent.

I just think we’ve got to thrive on that crowd, it’s a great crowd to play in front of and you have to be able to handle that.”

I haven't taken anybody's comments out of context. Whether Lambert had said anything or not, there were people booing on the stroke of half time in the Upper Holte (which is where I sit). I am not telling anybody how to support their team, but I am providing my opinion that booing your own side is beyond the pale.

You said 2 posts ago that lambert commented on the boos - he has publicly said he has no problem with the fans and understands their frustration - it is part and parcel of football , and happened with a minority at half time not during the play itself - like lambert I have no problem with it and understand their frustration - we will have to disagree ads, but i respect your right to air that opinion.

May I wish you a boo free rest of the season as that will mean we are doing well :)

Looks to me like Lambert has reviewed his post match comments and quickly heaped praise on our fans for which I applaud him.
There was nothing really to draw a line under but I'm now drawing a line under this.
Lesson learned. You do not criticise your own support in public as AVB did.
That will come back to haunt AVB.

I've seen interviews and press comments from him after the match but still Not sure where he's supposed to have criticised the support ?

Eastie it's the post match comments on bbc . It's a veiled dig rather than an outright AVB moment.

Ok mate , just watched his bbc aftermatch interview and see nothing whatsoever in the way of criticism at fans , think you are misconstruing his comments ..

"Playing at home you need the fans to be right with you"
As in in his opinion we weren't and the lads ( the players) did "fantastic" to play through that.
It's a subtle dig.
Line drawn under though, we move on.
