Personally i wouldn't buy hotel or train tickets until i knew what day the game was definitely on. I might be right in thinking that they can't change the date once tickets go on sale but i stand correct on that.

For somebody where every home game is an away game, I have to say that I loathe early kick offs. I understand when they're moved for safety reasons, but the Fulham game for example is a real ball ache. I will now have to stop over in Brum the night before.

I don't tend to mind the evening kick offs too much, although Southampton and Cardiff will involve half days.

Like you Ads I travel a fair distance - I just get frustrated when I have to juggle my time off and Juniors school leaving times to facilitate getting to VP on Mondays in particular. Yes the early kick offs are a pain also. I would have loved to have gone to Southampton on a weekend so I could meet up with some of the guys who post on here and live on the coast.

My first opportunity to post in this topic - whilst I accept that fixtures are changed to appease SKY and other broadcasters it does not not mean I agree with it - I have already been affected by the Fulham fixture change which has cost me in additional hotel charges.. As someone else stated - there is not even an apology on the official site when such changes are announced.
This has now hacked me off to such an extent that I have already decided not to renew my season card next year-this decison is coupled with the fact that the current state of affairs at B6 means that seats are readily available for most games. Many fans are now expressing their dissatisfaction in the way they are treated by SKY, clubs and other associated third partieswithin the football world and voting with their feet.
Its bad enough forking out for expensive tickets but having to lose out on train tickets, hotel bookings, plane tickets etc is ridiculous. Its a shame that all fans can`t collectivley say a big NO to increased prices, constant fixture changes, three new kits a year etc and launch a boycott against the running of the modern game, in particular the Premier League. To conclude this is one football fan that has had enough and is staying away - I have not had SKY either for about 20 years!
Absolutely how i feel and i dont think i will be renewing either next year due to this.Im actually more pissed off with villa about this.Potentially six days notice is just not on, especially if its a 12pm Sunday ko.Why dont Villa just say no...whats the worst that can happen!! A fine, points deduction, anything? I feel for the Arsenal fans too, how can they make travel arrangements when they dont know the date of the game until 6 days before the game.

Im really surprised this hasnt caused more uproar...we just seem to accept it, but no other sport treats its customers like football does, with total disdain!!

I think regarding hotels  and train , coach tickets that often the more in advance you book the cheaper the price - it really is frustrating when people make plans and then games get switched .

I remember the game at anfield 3/4 years ago (2-2), when it was originally a saturday 3pm, we sold out our 3000 allocation and i think with 10 days notice IIRC they moved it to a monday night, so it has happened in the past.

I think the Arsenal game is ridiculous. The date should be known before you buy the ticket. I can only presume that Villa and Arsenal will allow people to return their tickets if needed.

I'm not sure they can do that now, but like i said earlier i stand correct.

Wasn't it a couple of years ago we played Reading away and Sky only decided to switch the game and show it 10 days before the fixture? Now that was a disgrace.

I meant to say, when was the last time we played Man Utd on a Saturday at 3pm.

Definitely when we last beat them in the league at home, but I've got visions of Joachim scoring an equaliser when we were both at the top. Probably 1999?

There was a game under o Leary when we chasing Europe - i think  it was our last home game of the season maybe and just before utd played millwall in the cup final- Ronaldo was their best player that day - I think it started at 3pm,?

Yes, the Marlon Harewood wonder-goal game. I'm pretty sure that when we bought tickets it was for the Saturday 3pm, but then got moved to Sunday lunchtime very late.

I was at that game and I can't remember if it was the Saturday or the Sunday.

I think that was the last game of the season, was live on TV and kicked off at the same time as all the other PL fixtures on a Sunday.

No, it was definately a Saturday because I remember doing a shift on brownhills  market that day helping out a mate and had to miss the game - Saturday 15 may , I had it on the radio - Ronaldo got sent off late on .
Just checked online - it was a 3pm kick off on the Saturday, not sure of the reason why but it seems all sides played their last game on the Saturday that season .
