Lapsed Season Ticket Holder Questionaire
« on: November 04, 2013, 11:50:04 AM »

Any other ex season ticket holders get this email from the club recently ?

The idea being, you answer a ton of questions about why you gave up your ST online, and add views on the club in exchange for a free ticket for an upcoming home game

Did it all last week, pressed send and got a message saying i'd be contacted within 24 hours about redeeming the free ticket offer

5 days later still nothing. Maybe the 'anything else to add' section where i went off on a bit of a rant upset someone  ;D

Anyone else ?

Not recieved mine yet, main reason for me was too many games being moved for tv and working shifts it became not worthwhile - how i miss the old days of the 3pm Saturday games every week .

How come?
Ads, for the first time in over 20 years i've just had enough our home games being shifted. If we play one of the top 6 at home Sky nearly always move it because we are a nice place to go and we are slight underdogs verses a better team. Thus, a 3pm kick off which happens in less than half of our home games will be against typically Fulham, Everton, Wigan (or the like now they've gone down) or another unattractive team. The atmosphere at those games is variable and the moved fixtures can put a dent in the atmosphere due to the silly kick off times.

And of course our home form in the past three years has not helped.

My last season as a ST holder was the McLeish year. I missed so many matches that year, despite having paid for them, partly because of work, partly illness and partly because I couldn't face it.

I didn't get one last season due to work being so uncertain and it representing a sufficiently large outlay for the Mrs to go mental if I got one.

At the moment, things are looking up somewhat, but I still didn't get one as, during the summer, we had next to no work lined up. Maybe next year.

Despite having season tickets I hardly attended a game during 2012 due to health issues. It certainly gave me pause for thought; that there will come a time, for all of us, when we're unable to go down the Villa so I'm not ready to pack it in voluntarily.

I had the email, I responded and not received anything about tickets. I have, however had the email a second time.
To be honest, I now follow Halesowen Town. I know full well they play every week at 3pm Saturday, the nipper gets in free and the players play for the love of the game not the money in their bank account. A free ticket to watch Villa would only be given away anyway. I hate modern football

The Sunday Mercury will pick up on this.

Just to play Devil's Advocate, do you think there is a single one of them who, given the opportunity, wouldn't swap their 'love of the game' for the rewards of playing at the higher level?

Which was found buried on the moon by an american astronaut who was related to a family from Castle Bromwich who are all claiming benefit despite being heirs to afore mentioned riches accumulated by German aristocrats who were also SS Officers.

Of course they would, who wouldn't want to become a millionaire for playing football?
