There was a fair amount of noise by fans arriving late on the concourse beneath, but they were roundly shushed and quickly quietened down.Unfortunate. Although by about an hour into the game just about the entire stadium was observing silence.

Everyone in the stand was quiet but there was singing coming from the bar. How were people down there meant to know that there was a silence being held ?The tannoy quality was so bad that us in the seats could hardly hear what was being said.

I got text from a WHU friend of mine last night - he's a bit of a drama queen sometimes but because I wasn't at the game I cannot really comment on whether he over-reacted."Afraid to report that your supporters are a disgrace. 1 minute silence had to be cut short because they would not shut up. They also booed the advance party wreath bearers, I always had respect for Villa. Irrespective of the result Villa are the losers. Never witnessed that kind of behaviour in over 40 years of going to top flight football".As In say, he can be a little over-reacting.

And the worst thing he's seen is a few people singing away from the stand while a minute's silence is happening?
Since when has Poppy Day remembrance with wreath laying has become a normal event at football matches?Or is it "the PC thing to do " these days?
I was on the far left of the STB and agree with a couple of the posters above, you could hear Villa fans singing in and around the bar in the bit below the stand, they wouldn't have been able to hear the announcement so had to be told to shut up when they came out into the stands. Does anyone know why they were having the Remembrance Day stuff a full 9 days before Remembrance Day itself?

Benteke to Chelsea January is my guess
Yes, he must have forgotten about their cup game against Millwall a few years back.
