With the exception of Bacuna I don't think anyone that's been signed has improved us at all

Totally agree.

Bacuna is a slight upgrade on Lowton.
Luna is a similar shitness to Bennett. Both not good enough defensively to improve us.
Kozak is a massive downgrade on Benteke and i'd rather change the system than play the Czech Cascarino upfront.
Helenius and Tonev.... Tonev was ok today by all means but over the 9 games hasn't contributed anything and his shooting is as bad as Weimanns. Helenius, the only thing we know about him is he wears clean undies.

£20m+ to see Bacuna replace Lowton.....bargain.

The performances aren't too bad but this is not acceptable now, 4/5 defeats at home, sort it out Lambert otherwise long term you'll be going the same way as TSM.

Probably the worst thing that happens to us is when we have a surprise win as we must be the only side who doesn't take the momentum from it and instead tailspins into decline.

Think about it, last season we beat Liverpool away and then had the infamous 15 goals of xmas. This season we beat Arsenal and followed it with 3 straight defeats.

We beat City and haven't even scored a goal since!!! 1 point from 9.

There is no other club like us

On the way back both of the lads I went with said as soon as Benteke missed that penalty that was it basically. After about 8 mins!. As neither Weimann or Gabby are capable of scoring this season Benteke is our only hope and today the Everton central defenders had him in their pockets for most of the game

I havent got a clue how Lambert's going to pull this round. Whats more I think Lambert hasnt got many ideas either!

You have got to take your chances. We had three, gilt edged ones, before Guzan had to do more than pick his nose. Goals change games and chances don't get any clear cut than the four we had today.

Gabby's chance was harder to miss; four/five yards out, bury it for crying out load.

Atrocious marking for both goals, but we had more than enough chances to win that game.

November is now very big for us. We wont play a top 7 side until mid-December. I think we have got it within us to beat a good few of these sides.

Why Clark doesn't play left back is beyond me, he is much more accomplished in possession.

Does that really need answering ?. I take it you have seen him play at left back .. HE CAN'T PLAY THERE!

Lambert should have til Christmas to improve our home form or else he should get the bullet. The fans who have been so patient are being shortchanged massively

This is complete lunacy.
Not really. It is at the end of the day, a business

Then you should feel free to take your custom elsewhere.
No thanks I'm just pointing out that if we're losing games and in the bottom 3 at Christmas with our Premier League status at risk, the club may consider a change, that's all.I don't rate Lambert but I will be delighted if we have an upturn in results, obviously

I hope so ads, we really must score more goals and its a depressing evening again - even watching El Classico is not making me feel any better - i fear another long hard winter.

I kept saying after the second went in 'I don't know how we've lost this.' I still don't. Everton were not two goals better than us, and we weren't two goal defeat bad.

I don't think we're anywhere near what we ought to be, but we are improving, despite two losses on the bounce. I thought overall, we played okay. Those goals were criminally easy to concede though.

My main concerns aren't about today's performance, rather they're about form - if away form deserts us or that bad patch has started early, we could be very much fucked.

I don't fear the winter. Bring on the likes of Fulham, West Ham and Sunderland, Cardiff and West Brom. We will take more than ten points out of that lot.

We are a big club with good support - it shouldn't be so easy for away teams to come to villa park and win - we should be making it a fortress and difficult place to visit .

The most worying thing for me is that teams like Everton and Spurs re not having to play particularly well to easily beat us.
A long winter is ahead I'm afraid.

I too don't think the summer signings have - yet - improved us other than Bacuna, and that is marginal. We needed to buy better players than we had, but didn't.

Regardless of what the project is, losing four out of five home games is totally unacceptable.

It doesn't matter that we fluked past Man City, as the standard for the season isn't going to be that, it is going to be more like the other four games.

Four home games against Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and Newcastle in which we have taken no points, scored one goal and conceded eight.

Whether the manager is McLeish or Lambert, that is nothing like good enough.
