STRIKE fear into the hearts of the opposition:

"This is Villa Park: home of Nicky Keyes"
I heard a few years ago there was a sign up at Blues tunnel saying "This is  Karren Brady way"

Get rid of 'This is Villa Park'.

Don't like it.

Nice idea but ruined by that.

Another reason to love Paul Lambert.

He just gets it, doesn't he?

Yes I think he does.

Saunders did. So did GT. So did BFR to an extent. Little obviously did - Gregory gobbed off too much. As for the others - Turner and Eck did but they were so far out of the depth it was like watching tadpoles swimming with sharks. Houllier - no he never ever got Aston Villa. Neither did McNeill. Based on what they had experienced previously that was shameful.

Same here. Seems like a backhanded compliment to Liverpool to me. Christ couldn't we think of something original.
Other than that though it looks pretty smart.

Absolutely love it. 'This is Villa Park' is just perfect, that'd get me really amped up if I was a player.

Is it just mirrors but the left side says 'Villa' and the right side says 'Aston'?

Someone summed up Houllier perfectly - he was a consultant brought into do a job, with no loyalty to his employer. McNeill was killing time until he moved back to Celtic.

So its untrue that we have the widest tunnel in the league now?

It does, but its because they're outside of the double doors.
They're what people are going to see looking in from the outside, so they are in fact the right way round!

The picture gallery here will make more sense:

Actually I'm a little disappointed. I'd rather we created a home team tunnel and an away team tunnel. The home team tunnel would be similar to what you see now but with the carpet also layered wih rose petals. Gentle, yet buxom maidens would greet the team at the end of the game, but only in victory.

The away team tunnel is dark and cold. There would be cobwebs, and creepy things hanging from the beams. Broken glass and barbed wire would form obstructions as the teams entered the playing area. Finally they would need to negotiate a team of hungry Orcs and a Beserker.

I like your thinking:

Nobody would be bothered about the entrance music if they could watch John Terry scuttle out ahead of a 20 ton boulder.

A bit disappointing really. It looks like it finishes at least 20 feet short of the perimeter fence. It will be tricky using it in daylight. I wonder if they'll call it Tom, Dick or Harry.

It looks nice but having the bulk of honours listed from our 19th century league wins may not engender much respect from our players or those of the opposition.

Well for starters there is a European Cup on there which Man City, Arsenal, Spurs and plenty of others have never done. Then there is a 1981 league championship which is more recent than any championships Spurs, Newcastle etc have ever managed.
