The New Tunnel at Villa Park

Paul Lambert is hoping the makeover of the player's tunnel at Villa Park will inspire his young squad.

The Aston Villa boss revealed he had a big say in how the walkway from the changing rooms to the pitch would look.

The stylish facelift gives a nod to the glorious past of the Midlands club with the its honours listed on the cross beams overhead.

"The tunnel area is a big area," Lambert told the club's website.

"It has been done up now and it is fantastic.

"You see some of the history that there is at this club, what's happened in the past. You can't take that away from a club."

And now Villa fans too can get a glimpse of what the players see before they stride out onto the pitch on a matchday.

I thought that. Maybe they are easily detachable and can be moved over to maintain a sense of balance as and when seasons are added.

Do other cross beams refer to our glories in Divs 2 and 3 plus League /FA Cup etc?
