Its as if nobody was at the Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City games.
We did actually lose two of those four though. So it's not as if people thinking we might lose is ridiculous.

Indeed.

I'd also add the fact everyone thought we'd lose heavily to Man City, when we actually won, doesn't really make a huge amount of difference. On paper, and on the evidence of what I have seen this season, Spurs are a much better side than us.

I can't really see the justification for having a pop at people when they say they reckon we'll lose against a team much better than us. It's hardly bet of the century, is it?

Spurs have only managed 6 goals in 7 games so far so I doubt they'll hammer us. I think it'll be very close, especially if Benteke plays, but I do expect them to nick it.

2-1 Spuds.

We have beaten the teams who I believe  will finish top 2 this season though and although clearly underdogs i think we have a fighting chance in this game .

I cannot see either team winning by more than the odd goal and benteke returning would be a real boost .

Even if common sense tries to prevail, i cannot find it in myself to vote for a Spurs win.  Its like voting for Ed Balls.  So, im voting 1 to the champs and nil to the chumps

They play a really high line and we're quick and good on the counterattack, 2-1 villa (Gabby, Benteke)

Need to put Townsend on his arse a few times in the first 10 minutes to slow him down, thats, if Luna can of course. Problem is Dowd would probably send Luna off after one tackle.

I can see this having a similar pattern of play as the Man City game so hopefully it will be the same result. They will have a lot of possession and our tactics might be to let them have the ball in areas where they aren't going to be much of a threat and hit them on the counter. Then second half we might press them a lot higher up the pitch and be a lot more aggressive when attacking them.

I think looking at the poll results we've largely been reasonably positive given the opposition and what happened last time out.

I fancy a result with Benteke. Without him, I'm not so sure. The trouble with a result like the one we had against City, is that Spurs will be less inclined to take us lightly. I think that's also more so given their last match. They'll be well up for righting the West Ham debacle.
We are due for revenge though. We were awful against them last season and wretched in the LC this season.

I predicted a 0-5 loss v CiŁy so I'm doing the same here. 0-4 spurs win.

Spot the deliberate mistake ;-)

Fast becoming the team I dislike the most, especially because everyone I work with seems to support them and they (the workers) are such annoying tossers you wouldn't believe.

Son back for 2nd game this season (renewed his ST then he got a saturday job, typical) and the last one he saw was the cup game but think we're improving so going draw, at least its a start.

I had a dream about the match last night: Spurs nicking a 2-2 draw in the final minute after a very feisty affair.

The magic of the new tunnel has refocused my energies, however, and I feel sure we can win this one.  It's a big three points: win the game and climb that table, Villa.
