It would be interesting to see what would happen if one of the groups, particularly the FPA, happened upon an enormous fundraiser. Would we see those who have walked away from it sidling back in with the others? Are they going to canvass all former players to find who, if either group, they are with so that they can draw on funds from the one they are with but not the other.

It's a bit embarrassing that they've made it public. Also everyone deep down knows that players who turn out for charity games etc get appearance money but we'd like to think that they do it for charity first and foremost. So it's particularly sad to see that they've made it such a public spat over how much money ex players earn. It's all about the money even when they've retired and it's all very shoddy indeed.

My mate played against Villa old stars a couple of weeks ago for the Harry Mosely charity, Staunton didn't even turn up and he was supposed to be there and he had been given a free car by MG

We've been asked to point out that Staunton wasn't due to be there as he had been on a Help Harry Help Others bike ride that day, he wasn't given a free car by MG and the game was against  Lions & Legends not the Old Stars.

Villa Lions & Legends match at Daventry Town FC today has been cancelled. Pitch is waterlogged.

Chris Price and Shaun Teale are having an argument about this now on Facebook.

With each other? I have not seen this.

Could just be a local non-league spat between current Southport manager and ex Burscough manager - they are very passionate about their football up here in Lancashire - VCTM jnr goes to school with  Staunton Jnr - I will see if I can get any gossip :)

Haha, that's just what I thought the other day when I read this thread, "F-ck the Judean People's Front ...we're the People's Front of Judea"

I thought Alan Wright was Southport manager and Chris Price was still in Australia and not yet fully recovered from his accident?

Whilst putting the record straight is welcome. I hope they won't getstuffy about fans referring to our vets teams as 'the Old Stars'.
