Thought gabby was our best hope of a goal, maybe not fully fit yet, time for Bowery to get his 1st.

We needed backup for Benteke and Kozak is that. We now need 2 wide players, Tom Ince style, to challenge Weiman and Gabby. We need those options.

Today is showing that Lambert made a mistake in signing Kozak, or at least in signing Kozak in place of the mythical number 10. Benteke or no Benteke, we'd be more likely to win this game with a number 10 than with Kozak, I'm afraid to say. And I actually like Libor.

I think he bought Kozak for long term not expecting Benteke to be out. He's thrown in him before he's ready. I think coming in once in a while for Benteke was the plan.

a £7 million player , not ready ?

Why not? The price doesn't dictate whether a player should be ready or not. Spurs spent £30m on a forward this summer who doesn't start every game. I'm sure they hope long term Lamela will be worth every penny.

I'm not going to join in the moaning just yet to be honest. We've missed a few chances today for sure but we've created a lot more than Hull and 0-0 at this stage in the game is not worth complaining about too much in my opinion. I'm hopeful the changes we've made and the usual will to win could turn this in our favour rather than constantly complaining.

I agree. More than the central forward, we need players to genuine challenge those two who can become quite ordinary when they are marked well. Benteke is different class and creates a lot of space for them to be more effective.

1628:
Robbie Savage, BBC Final Score Hull 0-0 Aston Villa

"I think Aston Villa will be fine this season. I tipped them to go down last year but I think they are better this time around."

Phew. That's ok then
