Draws? Where we're going, we don't do draws.

This should be our new motto.

Quote from: official website
Paul Lambert was absolutely thrilled with the level of performance in the win over Man City, as he called for more of the same against Hull on Saturday.

Lambert said the display in the 3-2 victory was "everything you'd want from a football team."

Now he has urged his players to put on another show at the KC Stadium and go all-out for another three points.

He said: "I've never wavered from the way I want us to play. We've always tried to play intense football with energy and we've never changed that since I've been here.

"So it's important to go and try and win matches and if we do that on Saturday then it's three on the bounce. We're playing well enough to go there and win.

"At the weekend, I knew we were up against one of the best teams in the country and that we had to play ever so well to try to get something from the game.

"I thought the lads had everything that you'd want from footballers - fight, hunger, desire, determination and togetherness.

"Everything that makes a strong team, we had in abundance.

"Then there was the noise from the crowd. They were brilliant. Everything about it was absolutely fantastic. The crowd were right with us.

"And considering the injuries we had - we lost four big players - the lads who came in did great.

"To come back from a goal down to Man City is hard enough but to do it again and go on to win it was a fabulous result for us. We were delighted to win. I had a team out there who would go through anything and everything for you.

"The way we won it, the manner in which we did it, was exceptional.

"Now we have Hull. We have to show the right attitude, the right way of playing and the right frame of mind because this is not an easy game to play.

"Hull have started well but our away form has been excellent. We've got a goal threat, that's for sure, and we'll go there to try and win.

"They have had an excellent start and that usually happens with a newly-promoted team. It's new, it's fresh and they go into the unknown in every game. You do get that freshness.

"It's a different type of game to the one against City. If we keep our away form and the way we are playing then we will certainly create chances.

"You have to earn the right to go and win a game. We will go up there and do everything we can to win it.

"The lads are playing well. There's a lot of confidence. And our away form is good."

Of course, Villa showed their attacking prowess with three goals against one of the favourites for the Barclays Premier League title without star strikers Christian Benteke and Gabby Agbonlahor .

Not that Lambert doubted his forwards.

He added: "I never really worried. I knew what I had. I work with them every day. I knew there were lads who were willing to go to the well for you.

Looking forward to tomorrow, my first trip to the KC. Also, I haven't seen us lose away in 2013 and expect the run to continue tomorrow.

1-0 Villa.
Agbonlahor 56 mins.

I think I know what he's getting at but have never heard that proverb (is it a proverb?) before.

I see Mystic Lawro has gone for 1-1, but I'm going more likely to believe that fine football pundit Michael Palin who has gone for a 3-1 away win!

I see Hull are planning their own 19th minute thing (19:04 to be precise) to voice their disapproval at the impending name change to Hull Tigers...
