I think we will win 3-1 (as long as Gabby plays).

Hull are obviously better than most people thought they would be. A well deserved 1-1 draw is our best bet. Delph 37min.

Other than the Newcastle game they don't score many (one or none in all their other games), but they don't concede many either, so this has 1-1 written all over it. Pity Benteke isn't fit so he could show Curtis Davies what a pub player defender he really is. If Gabby plays I think we'll win. 2-1 to us

Fancy us for this.  1-2 with Weimann and Clark from a corner scoring.  Really wouldn't through a strop if we came away with a point, though.

from an Irish perspective, I was looking forward to seeing Robbie Brady play but he is out injured which is a boost for Villa.

By all accounts Huddlestone and Livermore have started very well for Hull so the midfield battle will be crucial. Huddlestone has never been the most mobile so need to exploit that where possible.

If Benteke was fit Id be very confident of a Villa win, Gabby fit will still make us favourites, without those two a draw.

My team (provided Gabby is fit)

------------Guzan
Bacuna, Vlaar, Clark, Luna
-----Westwood, Delph
------------KEA,
Tonev, Weimann, Gabby

wouldnt be totally against giving Albrighton a start ahead of Tonev. If Gabby is out, might aswell start with Kozak and Weimann up front and maybe Tonev in the hole and KEA deeper

Is this a modern thing, telling us who the Ref is? I've not noticed it till recently, and I've never been bothered (and probably never will) who actually referees the game.

There are many modern things which have been introduced to our bemusement. We are too old for this world, you and I.

Agreed. Another modern football "thing" I just don't get is the infatuation with gambling in football. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every single time I talk about football with the people I work with they immediately tell me the odds for the match we're discussing. I just don't bloody care what the odds are.

Do you also remember when nobody cared much about the fixtures and what the new shirt was going to look like? In fact, do you also remember when a new shirt every summer was the cause of moans about rip-offs and exploitation?
