Good points Matt. Just on Benteke it's fair to say whilst he has scored 4 goals he has been generally very quiet in all the games. So based on this season his overall play contribution will not be a loss however scoring instinct is a gift and that could be a problem.

Thanks muchly chaps. It was weird not knowing how we got on today until I saw us on MOTD.

Have we been on yet?
The whole match can be watched on BT Sport starting at 10!

Not for the first time we are last on MOTD. Again. And it won't be the last time will it . Grrrr. Rant over.

I was initially annoyed about us being last, but it was only a one nil, and after recent form and last seasons placings, it was kind of understandable on this occasion.

No motd conspiracy theories please! Unless there's a massive game, they basically put games on in order of the excitement / number of goals scored. So Chelsea were penultimate.  Our game had fewest games and were last. The Everton and Newcastle games were the first two

OR there's a massive conspiracy by the London / Manchester media.

We only won ten games last season and five of those were in our last ten games. Going into 10 February against West Ham we had only won four games all season.

We have already won two games from our first five, and those fixtures have included Arsenal away, Liverpool at home and Chelsea away!

Objectively, you'd have to think we will be well clear of a relegation scrap this season.

Sorry to be going against the conspiracy theory but I thought there were quite a few highlights of the game despite us being last and it being a bit of a gritty game. It wasn't as if they just showed the goal and said Good night. I'm sure there will be times to moan about our coverage but I don't think this was one.

A scrappy game between two average teams that mustered just one goal, and was already shown live earlier in the day. You really think MOTD are gonna put it one near the start?

True, he has been a little quiet, but in the time he was on the pitch yesterday there were signs we was 'waking up'. He was getting really involved, and there were some lovely lays off and touches from him. Some of his 'football' was brilliant.

Just seen the handball again. It was ridiculous, especially when you compare it to Terry's at Chelsea.
