Not a fan of Clark but as ever more than happy to eat humble pie when he plays well. Good result. Naaaar-iitch aren't great but then neither are we. We just have to be better than 3 others though I suspect we will be better than 8 or 9 others come end of the season.

Norwich dont lose many games at home, it was a great result. Clark does get stick, but I like his attitude on the pitch and he always gives his all.

I must have watched a different game, i lost count of the times Weiman gave the ball away making the simplest of passes, i give him credit for effort but he really is out of sorts. Fingers crossed we may have found a good back up for Benteke but all in all these were two teams one poor the other diabolical who will both struggle this season.

Weimann has always been that sort of player. Which is why I doubt he'll ever play for a top side.

He gives the ball away horribly. Look at his first 40.mins v Man U at home last season.
But then he can come up with moments of quality. His shot off the post. His toe poke at goal. His pass to kozak

Not been in great form this year so far. But it really fucks me off when fans lazily attribute this to "complacency or feeling safe". Find me a keener player in our recent history

Ridiculous

I fail to see how grinding a one nil win out away from home at a tough place to pick up three points means we're likely to struggle to stay up.

We went to Chelsea, played brilliantly, but got nothing.

We went to Norwich today, didn't play brilliantly, but got three points.

That's just the way it is, I too do not understand why some people don't seem to understand this. Good teams play well and win matches frequently, yes, but they also grind out results with unconvincing performances.

Not that I am comparing us to them, but how many times in the Ferguson era, for example, did we see Man United play really unconvincingly and nick a win? Literally hundreds of times.

Same goes for those who aren't convinced with the importance of our counter attacking. Ferguson's Man United were a great team when in possession of the ball, but they were even better as a counter attacking side.

Three points today was very important, and we got them.

I watched  the game with a palace fan today, he couldn't believe he hadn't heard of Wiemann before and thought his technique and quality was amazing...

Refreshing to hear when we all think he is not on form.

Also Suarez syndrome, I thought gabby and Wiemann looked better when benteke went off, not that this is a solution but highlights the team are using him as an outlet to much for me!

Agreed, and it's something as a side we need to develop in our arsenal, the ability to win whilst not playing at our best.

There was plenty of talk last week about this side not being able to grind out results.  This week they have, so any criticism seems a bit off.

Call me Nostradamus. This is what I said just after the extent of the Okore injury was announced.

Watch us get a clean sheet at Norwich now.

Nothing definitive other than it is a hip flexor which requires further diagnosis. I expect if it isn't too serious he'll miss a week or two at most.

It will be interesting to see whether a period without Benteke leaves us looking toothless or whether it's helpful in teaching us to play without him. Kozak wasn't able to dominate in the air in the way he can. That migth mean we struggle, or it might mean we play better through midfield. I'm not sure what the tactical answer to doing that is though to be honest. I'm pretty sure it isn't 442.

A couple of points on our form too:

1. We've not played great so far in terms of passing football. But I think the league generally has been a bit like that. Not many teams are playing good stuff consistently. Perhaps the stop start nature of the season hasn't helped?

2. This is more true at home than away, obviously. But  I note that we were one of four teams to win away yesterday, none of them  the outright favourites. Liverpool have been feted for their style, but haven't scored more than one goal in a game this season I don't think, nor a single second half goal.

So the point I'm making is that we're not alone in stuttering.
