These early kick offs are nice when you win. Job done, relax.

Decent performance, any win away from home is good. Norwich look really poor.

I was impressed by our left side  Luna, Weimann, KEA all played well-ish. Guzan immense.

Huh? Luna was slaughtered by Snodgrass.

Indeed Luna had an absolute shocker and should be dropped for Bennett.

Bonuses are we won and kept a clean sheet though can't help but be very disappointed with the performances Of Tonev (can't quite work out whether he realizes he is allowed to pass to a man in the same colour shirt) and Luna who's positioning is awful.

I also like the way Lambert ensures the players go over to the away fans at the end of the game.

I'm hoping that that'll give the defence a massive boost to our defence, finally getting a clean sheet.

Well put. And it was great to see them timewasting and do all that other clubs do when one up away from home. We have not seen that nous for a very long time.

We look a poor side who might get a few goals on the break...thats about it for me.

Bacuna played well out of position, Delph and KEA didnt do too bad either. Tonev and Luna....ummmm, yea.

Shit the bed that wasn't much fun.  A shame that the injuries robbed our attacking intent, Gabby was looking really lively in the first half.  I am sincerely hoping that it was a bad day at the office for Tonev, he just strolled around the pitch looking uninterested and twice in that second half he gave possession up too easily allowing Norwich excellent goal scoring opportunities.  Delph and KEA did well in the middle,  Delph didn't get booked!!.  Clark was excellent against Elmander, and seemed to have a lot of composure.  Gods bless Guzan the save from Snodgrass' penalty and the tip over the bar from Hooper deserved a clean sheet....let me just type that again, a clean sheet...damn that's an experience that has been coming for a while.  Bacuna looked damn decent too.  Some positives, let's just hope the injuries to Gabby and Tekkers are not too serious.  I think we have a squad.

3 points, clean sheet. Villa don't do draws any more. Benteke will be out for sometime which is a massive blow, happy and sad feeling really doesn't work at the same time.

I'll have a pint of what noodles is on. Luna ripped apart...to be fair he didn't bottle it. Weiman nah not today but KEA was decent today and i ain't a fan.
Michael Owen gave Guzan MOM and i can see the point - pen save, great save plus crosses dealt with but for me MOM was Ciaran Clarke he threw his body into everything.
Also Bacuna outstanding!!!!

10th for a few hours anyway!!!

Huh? Luna was slaughtered by Snodgrass.

That was a battle! A lot of adversity there - three injuries if you include Westwood. The penalty. The monkey on our back of no clean sheets.

We looked pretty shit at times though. Defensively down the left all game. And going fwd in the second. I'd order the players in the following way:

Guzan - Clark - bacuna - gabby

Then a gap then: Delph - KEA - vlaar - Weimann

Then kozak - benteke - helenius - sylla -

then a gap.

Then a further gap

Then: Luna - Tonev

I think we should all hold off celebrating the clean sheet.

At least until the betting surrounding the match has been checked for irregularities.

Lambo on BT Sport. Says he hid lots of knocks and injuries pre match. Benteke not too badly hurt. That is why he signed Kojak. Praised back 6. The big club games gave confidence, lucky to get anything in such games. Admits poor v Toon. Next two games top sides again. Hints at weaker team v Spurs due to injuries and league priority.

Well, I've slagged off El Ahmadi a lot but I have to admit he was very good today. The midfield still forget to track their man back too often for my liking, but KEA harried and hustled to good effect.

Bacuna was very good indeed, his pace really made a difference, which helped when he got caught out of position occasionally. Made Luna look like an amateur by comparison.

Kojak looks pretty decent - good touch and takes up some really useful positions. As soon as he came on, he went and stood between the centre backs on Bassong's shoulder, and was actively calling for the ball - always good to see. He made the goal with his movement. Shame about Benteke, but now the logic of Lambert's decision to sign another forward looks clearer. Fair play to him.

I thought Clark had a good game too, which is not something I say all that often.
