I am not bothered about Norwich. I just want PL to have a very good response to Newcastle -type moves in training.
Watching MOTD, every promising move started from Lowton. Cannot believe posts trashing him. Well done to Benteke as well.

Brad also seemed immense.

lowton was awful today I thought

We're going to have to change our formation at home. It's not working with three immobile forwards when we're not counter-attacking. I think Weimann is going to have to step aside unless he can prove himself undroppable. And if we're using target men, we need to cross the ball now and then. We really need that creative midfielder more than ever.

Picked out on MOTD and mentioned positively in dispatches on the radio, mainly on the wing. He is doing something!
Ok, I wasn't there, but I like him, as a player I mean.

That said, we need somebody creative in the middle, as well.

After the second half against Liverpool, this team deserved another run out. We regressed, which can happen after 3 weeks off.

If I was there I would have been pissed off too. It was a gamble to chuck Kozak on, especially since he hadn't even trained with the side yet. That was such a low percentage play that even my blood optimism finds hard to justify.

This is my 10th straight season ticket and I genuinely can't remember us ever being that good at home. Even in the multiple 5th/6th finishes we'd regularly throw in terrible performances and struggle to break teams down.

Lambert's n.o.1 priority this season should have been to sort out our home form, yet in the two games we've seen I can't see any evidence that he has given it any extra thought whatsoever. His signings don't exactly say 'here comes a new plan' either. Kozak seems like the last player on earth we should have signed, why not a touchline hugging winger to give a different angle of attack if required? Or someone to play just off Benteke with a bit of guile? It's not rocket science is it?

I sat next to a lovely guy who's been going down for 67 years. He didn't rate anyone on the pitch yesterday he had me entertained the whole game with some of the things he was saying, I was going to get him a drink afterwards but he was driving back.

Lose against Norwich and we will go to Hull having lost five from six and be in December again.
<scrathes head>
Are we going to lose to someone else before Norwich?

Missed a big trick not getting Barry back for a season. Our loss is Everton's gain as his experience, ability to keep possession and leadership skills would have made such as difference to our shitty midfield. Barry or KEA?
We haven't got him so what's the point?
We have the guys in the squad. They can do it, just a matter of time and training.
Barry was inept once, and I remember he had to learn his job!

KEA is 28   (29 by the turn of the year).      How much time and training do you give him to learn his job?

He had an absolute shocker.  Gave the ball away almost every time he had it and was caught out of position on numerous occasions.  By far his worst performance in a Villa shirt, but hopefully it is just a blip in form.

I accept that I don't see the players in training on a daily basis, but I can't understand why Sylla hasn't featured yet this season.  I thought KEA was pedestrian and just doesn't offer enough for me.

Lambert really needs to come up with a different plan at home because we have become very predictable.

Good point. At 28/29  and in his second season there is no time to wait. He should be now or never.

He seemed OK last time I saw him! Give the man a chance, anybody can have a bad day.

He's had more bad days than most.

And yes, for a footballer approaching 30, you'd kind of expect that he might be a bit closer to the finished article.

How much more is he likely to develop?

You know, I don't know why Sylla hasn't started either, but evidently PL has his plans.
It's a white knuckle ride all the way, with this manager, whichever season!

just kept giving the ball away ,could not do a simple ball . He wasnt the only one . I thought weimann was poor , should have been off so much earlier  and el ahmadi was rubbish . One positive was Delph to be fair . Lambert does take too long to do subs ;(  maybe because he cant do them

we should have got steve Staunton off his bike and give him a game .

by all accounts Villa had a bit of a mare today.
Let's give them a bye/space to go, 'what the hell was that' and move on. I've had days like that.
