It's a shame, because if we could win even just 7/8 games at home, with our away form we could be contenders for Europe again.

But this current side, winning 8 at VP would be a huge ask.

We're the same player short that we have been for a decade at least. And Lambert bought a Big Man Number 9 when we have one of the best in the world in that position, and have absolutely no incision in midfield. It really doesn't look clever at the moment.

Can't believe we came out to defend and counterattack. How many times does this have to fail before we stop doing it. Plus we were at home against Newcastle. We should have been at them from the start.

OK it's not going swimmingly as we expect however the good points are no one has ripped us apart and we are developing every match. Newcastle despite their results previous to today's game have some very good players. Just need to keep the belief and trust Lambert to get it right.

Just how long do you keep on saying this, it is now his team and it sucks!

Really poor today.

Weimann, Westwood and El Ahmadi out next game, Tonev, Sylla and Bacuna in.

Relegation talk at the ground from people. We won't go down like we won't the league after beating Arsenal first game.

We're set up to beat teams away from home, so why not try something different at home?

Wouldn't be surprised to see something like the following team v Norwich:

Guzan - Bacuna Okore (Clark) Vlaar Baker - Sylla, Westwood,Delph - Tonev, Benteke, Gabby

Anyway, enough villa for one weekend thanks. I just get angry when I start stewing. Everton - Chelsea and then Eliseum for me.

We could have conceded many more today.
But we didn't Paul and that's a positive. The other two defeats were also vey close.

Now, it sucked today and he's made a very large fuckup in the transfer market in my opinion. But we have quality and ability through the side as the opening couple of games showed, and Lambert has plenty of goodwill in the bank, and we should have enough to be fine this season. But a lot of what happened today was totally unacceptable.

Well I wouldn't give up yet, I still have faith in Lambert but his tactics at home need a change.

Three good games out of four, unlucky not to be on more points. Hardly the end of the world.

Absolute fucking garbage. I am furious to have been proved right. I said before that I had seen nothing to suggest that we had the capability to win the game and I was proved dispairingly correct. Christ knows where these predictions from most came from about rolling them over, based on exactly what I have no idea.

That narrow, one dimensional shite signals the fourth year of struggle. Its just not acceptable.

I hate Villa Park and all its soft touch, inviting, easy to play in atmosphere. Its been shit down there for years.

How the fuck you can spend three weeks planning that tedious and aimless crap is beyond me. The midfield is so weak and toothless it defies logic. Why isn't Sylla in there? Why do we have one tactic; give the ball to Benteke, has he scored? No? Lump it back to him.

Total fucking shiite, as bad as anything that c*** McLiesh ever served up. Another season struggling to survive. Fuck off Villa.
Yep.

I wouldn't be surprised if we win less than 3 games at home all season. Utterly clueless on the ball and still possess the worst defense in the league
Steady on fella there are 5/6 teams worse than us.

Maybe there are aftab but this is a club that should not be anywhere near the bottom 6 - today was extremely poor.

It's just 4 games. I will be concerned at 14 or 24.

Well true, but I think our level of performance was a massive concern and also the tactics in general.

Its all well and good to say we wont go down, maybe not, but being close to it again for the fourth season in a row is beyond the pale.

The signs are there for all to see, another year of struggle. I am sick to my back teeth of playing at Villa Park.

I'll probably get pelters for saying it but I do wonder if Lambert is even capable of getting us back among the top eight.
