If it was mostly Spanish low level clubs after him on loan, I guess the issue was that none were willing to take on enough of his wages. I'd guess Mallorca would have taken on less of his wage than his loan last term after relegation. But as Hutton suggested earlier in the window, he didnt want to play in the second tier in Spain.

When the loan window opens, I'm sure there will be championship clubs willing to pay a significant chunk of his wages. I dont think we'd be silly enough to ask for a loan fee. I don't think that's the issue.

Sometimes we as fans have real double standards.

Downing and Benteke (when he put in the request) = Typical modern day greedy footballers because they don't do what WE want them to.
Hutton and Bannan (after he turned down Blackburn) = Typical modern day greedy footballers because they won't do what WE want them to.

Aye. It was not long ago that we had a load of people saying 'Hutton is a twat because he doesn't want to play football' now we have 'Hutton is a twat because he's complaining about us not letting him move to play football'.

The net result of this is that we are now stuck with at least the majority of Hutton's wages for at least the next four months. He might well get a move to a Championship club but that can only possibly be a loan. Championship clubs know that we're desperate to get rid of him and that he'll be desperate to move on so we have an unbelievably weak negotiating position with him and would probably be liable to get less of a proportion of his wages than we've been offered by La Liga clubs. I heard Tiny Penis talking about the loan window and he said as a lower league manager he loved it as he could get players on loan very, very cheaply in it as selling clubs and players had become even more desperate following the 'slamming shut' of the window.
