Seems to have decided fighting injury is not for him. Good luck in the future Tommy. Bright lad who loves Birmingham and loves the Villa. I will always remember his goal at the Holte against Blues (think it was the draw that felt like a defeat after being 2-0 up).

That goal against the rags, we were right in line with the shot.

It was one of the few occasions when the ball was in as soon as you saw who was hitting it.

Good luck Hitz.  Played for some top clubs and got over 50 senior caps for Germany.

Can he not come here as a coach and teach some of our boys how to spank a ball from distance?

wondering is he doing coaching coures for UEFA A qualification in Germany. As I could see him working in Villa park with Paul Lambert with Villa and German background.

Good luck Thomas.

Thomas was our own. The young lad we trained turned into a very good professional. Good luck Thomas for the future.

Probably my favourite Villa player**

The current side needs someone who's a regular threat from distance

(** remember, I've only been watching Villa since 1996)

Good luck to him, left us with some great memories.

Shame he didn't have a bit more to his game, but fuck it, if you can it a ball like that why bother trying anything else.

Der Hammer was at his best when he just shot on sight and kicked the oppositions best player.

31 is quite young to retire. I thought he'd have gone on 2 more years. All the best Hitz Der Hammer

He still had it when he was playing for West Ham a few years back. Remember seeing him interviewed around that time.
