Let me preface by saying I've seen nothing of the game.

According to the BBC stats, we had 48% possession of the ball.  Really?

Enjoyable game, beautiful evening. Good to see Sylla involved although he looked a bit rusty. Plenty of potential there IMO. Had a great time sitting in front of the away fans in the Witton Lane lower. Stewards didn't really shine, chucking out a 12 year old kid for winding up the away fans. The wife enjoyed it.
<scratches head> But they were all confined to upper Witton End?

He gets confused easily. It's an age thing. Happy Birthday, mate!

Can't be true.
We had so much of the ball in the 2nd half it was almost embarrassing - at least 65% I would have thought.

Upper North and Upper Witton.

Oh OK. I didn't see the upper Witton lot as I was sitting in the lower Witton Lane.

The majority were Upper North, and seemed like a few scuffles in one area up there at one stage.

Re Helenius:

No he's not great in the air, despite his height, but is blessed with good technique.
I said when we signed him, that Cornelius at Cardiff would look the better player this season  as he's physically more ready for the game over here, but that longer term Helenius would be the better bet if he could adapt to the physical side of our league.

Think a more skilful, technically adept Ormandroyd instead of Crouch.

My brother-in-law described him as a poor mans Zlatan v Cornelius as a Andy Carrol light.

How does he compare to Crouch?

I'd say much better on the deck, a bit more pace when he gets going, but nowhere near as effective in the air.

I don't think you'll ever see him score a goal like Crouch's on his debut for us, with a flying header from somewhere between the penalty spot and the 18 yard line.

No chance. We dominated.

Rotherham fans view

Quote
What an excellent club. 22000 supporters to watch the Millers. They respect us and the competition by fielding their strongest squad. All the support staff were pleasant and helpful. Finally , on the way back to the carthere were loads of mmillers and villa fans chatting as they went.

Massive clubs are just that, they don't need to shout how massive they are.

Classy club.

A superb club and what a stadium. I love how they have kept the old architecture for the steps up to the back of the Holte End. You could smell the tradition at Villa Park.

I love NYS but their club shop is bigger than it. Great club.

And I saw a few Rotherham fans in the Holte car park pre-match and they were just staring at the Holte in awe. It was so plainly obvious in their facial expressions. We truly are lucky to be fans of Aston Villa.

Wonder what they would have made of the old Trinity Stand *grumble*

And what's NYS?
