The club showed itself to be an utter shambles in the months after he left, so for all the snake jibes I threw his way, I can kind of understand why he felt he had to move on.

Still, wouldn't want the prick back at Villa.

really?
As you've alluded to, the whole club has changed since then.  If he/they blamed the old regime, signed a new contract and played every week at his previous standard (pffft, okay I'm pushing it), he'd be an instant hero.

Did Fox advise him to go? Maybe Delph was genuinely conflicted, it would explain the flip-flop ping. I guess we'll find out when he releases an auto-biog at the end of his career when the statute of limitations has expired.

I would rather be in the 4th division than have him back.

I think it will come out that he was pushed overboard rather than jumped ship.

No you wouldn't, that's just silly.

Sorry, I agree with him.  Absolute scrote of a player.

You'd rather Villa were in the fourth division or whatever it's called than have a footballer who used to play football for Aston Villa but left to play for a team years ahead of Villa? I'm no fan of his but he's far better than anything we have at the club now.

Agreed, even if at the time it was not good.

I'd rather have lunch with Bono than have Delph back at Villa.

It would be a tad hypocritical to welcome him back after the amount of abuse he got when he was at VP with Man City. He'll most likely join a Premier League club and be injured a lot.

I haven't read the recent posts, were people seriously thinking he would even consider returning? I can see him and Milner eventually seeing out their careers at Leeds.

I don't like the guy but I wouldn't wish that on him.

He's a colossal wanker for what he did. But if he came back to the club, and he was fit we'd quickly forget (if not forgive) what he did because he would simply dominate the division at his position. But let's face it, he's never coming back.
