The idea that we forced Delph out to save money, before going on to spunk 55 million pound on overpriced Frenchmen (on meaty wages) is utterly ludicrous. Delph is 110% serpent and a pox upon him. His abject failure at City is not remotely surprising either. I thought he was best looking good for a struggling club. He's a mid-table player at best because he can't pass or control a ball and if you can't do that, you'll never be a top midfielder. City will cash in and buy another average English player to replace him to keep up their home grown quota. Delph is firmly in the Rodwell /Sinclair/Johnson camp and a country mile from being a Barry/Milner.

Delph is only in the same camp as those wasters due to injury. He was very impressive in the qualifying games for England I saw too. If he gets over his injury troubles he is more than capable at competing at a high level but maybe not the very highest.

Milner's efforts in a Villa shirt are seriously overrated. His last 6-9 months when he replaced Barry in the centre aside, he was bang average when played on the right. Run all day but precious little quality. I don't think he improved as a player after leaving us either. Delph under Lambert and Sherwood delivered similar levels of quality in a Villa shirt. He showed great character too as under MON, Houllier and even early in Lamberts reign he looked one of our worst ever players.

It's worth remembering that in his final season with us, it took him 45 minutes to get warmed up. Maybe it was worth waiting for as he had a great knack of driving the team forward but he was at best only "quality" for at best 45 minutes per game, (when he could be arsed).

He was almost a dead cert for that England spot such was his form last season. And now acting like a wanker of a significant magnitude he will be sat at home. He seems to be one of those players that needs to play a lot to keep his muscles/joints etc loose. So inactivity is his worst enemy which is precisely what has happened to him at Man City and cue numerous niggles and knocks. Fuck him.

I'm actually disappointed he's out with injury. Had he been fit;

A, He gets left out on merit, which I would personally have found more amusing.
B, He gets selected and becomes the player the media use to question Hodgson's judgment. Again, more amusing than another minor injury.

I hope his injury is career ending though.

A shame Woy couldn't have admitted it was down to him just not being International Quality rather than another old injury.

Yeah, I really shouldn't post stuff like that whilst putting a bet on on the other screen.
