Against San Marino.
Which is why I mentioned JonJo.

You can only play what's against you and to be fair Delph, every time I've seen him in an England shirt he has looked more than competent.

The snake thing doesn't bother me in the slightest, we've crucified him on here and chances are he's read it so thought fuck them. Doesn't change the fact he's a fucking weasel who will be at Sunderland within 18 months though.

Wasn't it Sterling, not Delph, that posted the snake emojis?

I'll be honest and say I think it's quite funny. If we are happy to dish it out, we have to suck it up when it's returned. That's how I look at it anyway.

Last season I thought he was a crucial player for us to keep.

I know it is only early days, but I've barely given the ****** a thought since the season started.

See this, too, interesting:

I hope the c*** rots in the City dugout. And be a stain there forever.

The only reason any of us were concerned about losing him was because we had somewhat good reason to think that the club would be incompetent when it came to finding his replacement. As it turns out, they knew what they were doing with Gueye and you'd think Veretout as well, so now I don't really give a toss.

Not a shred of thought between them about the impacts of that Instagram message

What "impacts" are you thinking of?

Delph is good at certain things but he's a better athlete than footballer. His touch and passing are still erratic to say the least. If he's a long term success at City I'll be very surprised. Not every player at that club can be a Silva. Of course not, but I don't see Delph as being good enough in a top 4 side, let alone the club that will probably win the title this year.
He's a standout mid-table player. Milner is better, which is why he was actually a fairly important player at City in the role he performed.

So far though, Gana looks very good. He's similar to Delph in that he's good at getting out of tight spots. But his touch and passing are a hell of a lot better. Gana's a little over aggressive with his challenges at the moment, but that could be fixed. Delph was also similar. Very much from the Scholes school of tackling. Gana and Delph's shooting is about the same. Which is to say they'll hit the target once in 10, and may score a screamer or two every season.

I think we've genuinely upgraded on the snake. Really impressed with Gana thus far.

it's really a case of when we were utterly gash it's easier for the better players to stand out. Now that collectively we are stronger it's a positive sign that players like Gueye go about their business very efficiently. Delphi is a good player, but I think we had him on a pedestal for very obvious reasons as we desperately clung to anything that gave us hope.
