I think it's time to move on, we've signed some decent midfielders since he left and I don't think we'll particularly miss him. It's CB that will take some replacing.

I've got a funny feeling he'll end up playing for us again, quite soon too.

Seriously? Why?

I don't think it was money. He realized he'd made a mistake turning down the career opportunity.  Which is fine. It's what he said in between that makes him look a prick. On top of being a prick for very obviously sticking the clause in his contract and then saying what he did.

Although naive of the club if they couldn't spot the likely outcome of such a low release fee.

The new contract was pointless in every respect but making us get back what we paid for him rather than nothing.

Making a big deal of it was pretty ill advised.

Had the supporters known about it at the time he signed, we would definitely been less cockahoop about it.

My guess is, and I concede I could be wrong, but they looked at the way his deal was announced as a way of boosting fan morale given how utterly bollocks things were at the time. Which it was even if ultimately the balloon of good feeling crashed from the sky not long after.

They could have just sacked Lambert for an even bigger confidence boost rather than pulling the wool over our eyes.

No reason really, just with them staring so well and him being out injured I could environment envisage a situation come January where it could happen.

I think you are more likely to see him at the Olbion or Blose just to cement his place in History.

He realized he'd made a mistake turning down the career opportunity.

What kind of career is sitting on the bench watching a conveyor belt of more expensive signings play? Surely he didn't think he was going to step right into the starting 11?

When it comes to those kind of scenarios, very few players facing those kind of moves lack self confidence.

It's a big part of how they have succeeded in the game in the first place.

I bet he is already thinking he has made a major clanger.
Although he is a low down dirty rat scum bag, he isn't the sort of lad to be not wanting to play week in and out.
Very silly boy, you would still be the captain and playing every week with some very good players Tim has brought in.
But for being a lying wank stain, you deserve all you get.

Pretty sure he'll be laughing his arse off every time his accountant informs him of his latest bank balance update, and he'll be working hard in training to get into the team in the full knowledge that he's part of a squad that will win trophies this season whether or not he gets much game time (which he will during the course of a season)...not to mention he's barely kicked a ball so far and retained his place in the England squad. Perks of playing for one of the Sky4/5/6.

Like Leeb I think he will return at some point
can't really explain and give you strong factual reasons, just a feeling
