Cilla Black was a national treasure, whereas Delph is just a gold digger
Shed Seven will reform next year, release a 20th anniversary version of Digging For Gold in tribute to Delph.

Source - Rick Witter's twitter.

Like bollocks that's 20 years old.  Really?  God, the years are speeding by.

Ironically, I'll be going to see the Sheds for their annual gig in town the night before we welcome Delph back to B6. Might see if Rick can re work the lyrics in the snake's honour...

You have your work cut out for you now, Delphino!

They don't really play in the same position though. It's bad news for Jesus Navas, certainly.

No de Bryune is no threat to him and  as soon as Fernandinho, Fernando, Nasri and Toure are injured he will be straight in!

I don't think even Delph sees himself as an attacking right midfielder, which seems the most likely place KDB will play.

Yes, but, with Silva, Sterling, De Bruyne and Toure ahead of him certainly, is he getting in ahead of Fernandinho?

I can't be arsed with Delph but the only way this works out for us (vindictively) is if he loses his England place for the Euro's by not playing enough and his form dips. Because let's face it he's going to get some games and he's going to be in with a chance of winning every competition they are in. Even if he only only plays in 25% of the games they could very well walk away with 1 or 2 titles this season. At the end of the day that's one or two more than he'd win with us. I don't wish an injury on him even if I might chuckle when it happens. He's not a prick for leaving. He's a prick for how he left.

Surely that would be a very hollow feeling, winning  a trophy only having had a handful of sub appearances?

Silva, Sterling and De Bruyne aren't ahead of him - he'll never be in the team in any of their positions. It's like saying that Sinclair is ahead of Westwood or Amavi is ahead of Okore.

He's not getting in ahead of either Fernandinho or Toure in their first choice eleven, but in the system that they play he needs one central midfielder to be injured or rested in order to play, the front four don't really come into things.

I've got a funny feeling he'll end up playing for us again, quite soon too.

He's been replaced here. Delph is not what or who we need. If we are looking for a creative, goalscoring centre midfielder, that is NOT Delph. If we are looking for an enforcer, that's not him either.

Delph would still be first choice in our midfield.
