So Delphs baby ( as far as I know) hasn't been born hence the reason why he didn't fly out to Portugal but he's now on a flight to Australia to meet up with his team mates.

Not really covering himself with glory is he?

God told the little shit he had to go
So he's basically Moses for the Instagram generation?

He would disagree - however he's in denial :)

Wow, if so that doesn't really come off in a positive way.

Compounded with everything else he is coming off as a greater wanker than one of us could ever have imagined if that is the case.

I appreciated the bloke signing a new contract in January, wasn't overly annoyed when I found out a release clause was involved and expected him to go.

Agree and had he kept quiet about it all, it would have still been disappointing but understandable.  What I can't understand is why he felt the need to keep coming out with empty platitudes when he must have known what was happening behind the scenes.

Yes that's what I thought when I heard earlier today that  he has left for Australia. Once again a duplicitous wanker.

Perhaps Micah Richards has spoken highly of Australia at some point.

Having slept on it for two nights I am increasingly of the opinion that we have behaved well and astutely over player movements in the summer.  We have behaved like a big and honourable club and the Villa team deserve credit for it.
The Benteke business has been exact and precise.   We know he wants to go, we have placed exactly the right value on him.  As for Delph I think our negotiating team had him worked out as a disloyal greedy little scrote right from the start.   All the signs in retrospect are that Delph knew where he was going when he signed his new Villa contract.  Manchester City triggered the release clause with clinical and cynical precision.   All the other potential buyers of a young England player held back.  Why? Because Man City knew from Delph the contents of his contract and had done from the day it was signed.   Delph thought he was being very clever by gushing about his loyalty to the club because he knew it was all done and dusted for City to move in for him and the show of love for Villa was no more than a PR smokescreen to sweeten his eventual departure.
However, it is my belief that the contract prepared by Villa was tighter and more onerous than clever little Mr Delph thought it was.   The final piece in his cunning little plan was to up sticks and join City first time round but his lawyers had some matter of the wording of his Villa contract pointed out to them perhaps something as innocuous as "at the discretion of Aston Villa Football Club".   Whatever it was the shit hit the fan and Delph panicked.   He pretended he had had a change of heart and sought to resume his role at Villa of utter and total loyalty.  In the few days last week when he was still a returning hero the lawyers went to work and it may have even involved top level exchanges between Villa and Man City CEOs to the tune of "we don't want this to finish up in the High Court do we?"   Our team correctly concluded that we had got £8 million when we could have got nothing and equally importantly Fabian Delph had been exposed for what he really is.
As has been said on here a number of time correctly if Delph had simply been straight with everybody and allowed his Villa contract to run down we would have been unhappy to lose him but resigned to it.   He and his representatives have conspired to make Delph a football by word for lying and deceit.

I heard the reason he did the u-turn and said he was staying was because his agent's 'cut' was too highThis got sorted and the rest is now history.
I had Delph down as better than your average footballer, how wrong can you be?

I'm with you Aftab. It's taken a few days to accept his pathetic decision. Fuck him, the little fucker. I wish him nothing but the worst of times at that shitty club in Manchester-banging on about being the only club in Manchester...who cares about your sad geographical high horse? Nobody. Basically, they're a rich Blues with a few good players, obsessed with Man Utd, and chasing the Champions League(which they're just not good enough to win).

Fuck 'em, and especially, fuck Fabian. Who also looks like a dickhead posing for pictures in that horrid Man City shellsuit thing.

Ok, rant over. Massively happy with Amavi though.

At the end of the day what could the club do. The power is with the players and their advisors. The club are not dealing with loyal employees  so they will always be on a hiding to nothing. Football became like the 'city' a long time ago and will continue to be like that for the foreseeable  future. The only people that could realistically change it are the fans but that won't happen because they will always turn up , so the real power is actually in our hands if collectively football fans decided to use it.

With all City's money, I think they may struggle to get into the top 4 this season,

Chelsea and Arsenal look stronger to me, and the other Manchester have made the better signings so far, so the way I see it it's a 50/50 between Liverpool and City
Liverpool with Milner and Benteke if they settle in could be better this season

City also at times look disinterested, it's all a bit we have done it before and really don't look up for it in some games, I can see them struggling a bit

What we need is a Snopes for football players

What we need is the reintroduction of capital punishment for football players.
