I just hope we reinvest wisely.

Gueye and Amavi will be good replacements and additions and will bring something new to the team.

The downside is that we are effectively wiping the slate clean with Vlaar, Delph and Benteke on their respective ways (I hope Delph goes for a shit, and it turns out to be a hedgehog that rips apart his arsehole and then the wounds go septic)... The plus side is... I can now drink another beer and hope that it all works out ok?

And it is then tended too by the old wire brush and dettol!

Is it just me that thinks he looks like Stephen Ireland these days.

Give it two years and they will be in the same team.

No, I've thought it for a while.  Showing similar qualities too.

Now it's all confirmed all I can say is what a massive prick, if you want to go somewhere for more money or better prospects then do it, but don't treat fans like mugs and tell them how loyal you are before pissing off 6 days later.  I've been quite defensive of him for most of his time with the club but it's impossible to say anything to defend this, if there was any chance of him changing his mind he should've just kept his mouth shut.

Just showing his stats on SSN.  28 games 0 goals 3 assists.  Fuck off and rot. You wont be missed.  BTW he is apparently flying out to be with his squad in Australia....apparently easier to get back to see the birth of his child than it is from the algarve

what's the betting that he turns up in front of SSN cameras driving a Range Rover with pink wheels. Just when you thought football couldn't accommodate a bigger tool than Ireland Delph does this.

Calm down some of you. Delph wasn't even that good. Gueye is an upgrade.

He's changed jobs, we all do it from time to time in our lives, maybe some of us even turn career moves down and regret it later.
Why football fans expect long term loyalty from young men from out of town I don't know, they have no reason to devote their life to our club.
And why we ever believe what players and managers say about how much they love the club I don't know either.
Oh well, the Villa are bigger than all of them and will live longer.

Probably due to a number of factors. But in this case I think it's fair to question the integrity of a man who twice in 6 months declared his loyalty and determination to remain at the club for 'the long run'. Only to leave a week after the second declaration, having inserted a clause into his contract that massively undervalued him.

Apparently the players are totally annoyed with the club for some reason for letting him go....Delph feels that he did the club a favour by getting them £8m rather than leaving on a free as he intended. This is the apparent feeling going around the camp although it just doesnt seem add up in my opinion.

As I've said on here before, he isnt that good anyway.

He is in the England team simply because we have the worst midfield in living memory. Him and Henderson says it all

Move on. We can replace him
