The level of some of your cynicism towards the press is funny. You really think they are just going by a single photo? Don't kid yourselves. He's a c**t.

Nice work though Delph, make a u-turn, get them begging as they need the homegrown quota filling and get a wage increase. Nice one.

Or maybe it was in his contract to take a double u-turn?

I wonder if any of the hacks have got the nous to ring either club for confirmation.

Chill out guys. Its a photo shopped picture of sterling.

This

This is what I thought, but why are no journalists questioning it?  And now the beeb...

The same happened last week where it went through all the stages really quickly (clause triggered, terms agreed, medical booked in, Delph comes out and commits to Villa) and between the first and last of those there was no new information, just seemed to be the press feeding itself and moving things along with little evidence from anyone that it was actually happening.  I may be wrong but right now this feels the same.

Good luck with your career Fabian, thanks for the hard work.
.... is what I would have said had he not spouted his bullshit on Saturday!

Well I thought it was a wind up, but BBC seem to have fully confirmed it.

I would also have regrettably said good luck to him, after the decision to re-sign and at least get us a bit of cash (not enough) and probably more importantly the essential boost when things were so dark.

I think maybe he's a genuine guy not being controlled by an agent for once, which means he's not managed his image so well?

It's just rather a shame after all the during the season (shockingly wonderful/boosting us) loyalty stuff and then the recent press release, that he really is off it seems. And not for a fee he's worth. Unless villa/he are in a position to ask for more, could that explain it?

Why would they? It's very easy clickbait for them, and I can't believe people still believe what the "journalists" spouts nowdays given all the shit they do, just look at the Sir Tim Hunt situation, pretty much most "newspapers" printed or published the story based on what one woman said without checking anything or if they knew they didn't care.

True, but different types of stories have different rules relating to how they're spread and reported. The Tim Hunt thing was within the norms of modern 'offence'-based witch-hunting, especially by the pseudo-feminists - viz the poor bastard with the ill-judged shirt last year. With football transfers, however, the BBC are usually very careful, and have been burned by Delph only last week, so you'd imagine they'd be more careful this time.

The BBC seem certain.  If it isn't true their reporter David Ornstein has to be sacked.

The photo could be balls, but I'd be surprised - very surprised - if the story was too.

Times change, they can just go "We were fed wrong info by our sources" or "Our sources were mistaken", even as a foreigner I've seen BBC going downhill on their reporting and sport-stuff in the past couple of years so I wouldn't put past anything them.

Well you have 3 photos going around at the moment.

One of Sterling coming out of a building, hair in tact wearing a grey hoodie, black jeans and white'ish hi tops.

Another of Sterling with his hair photoshopped out.

And one more, from miles away of a bald black guy wearing the clothes Sterling wore at his medical.

I smell bull.

I wonder if he's got the old angel in one ear and the devil in the other?  Go on Fab, fuck 'em, sign for City, loadsamoney.  No, no, you can't do that.  Think of all those loyal Villa fans that love you.

Frankly, if true, I despair (again).

If true, I think both gushers of lies coming out from him are basically because he is massively stupid.
It does point to an amazing simpleton, a village idiot BUT we made him our Club Captain. I find that totally astonishing.

Torygraph reporting the story..............Midfielder is reported to have decided to move to the Etihad - six days after saying he was staying at Aston Villa
So no confirmation there.
