I have slept on it now and having had a further think this morning about it all I am quite clearly able to say Delph is a fucking weasel, a turd who will go the way of Johnson, Rodwell, Sinclair and a few others at City. Good luck wanker on announcing your retirement from competitive football.

Looks like you had a good nights sleep olaftab, pmsl.

I agree Aftab. I'm monumentally pissed off.

The fact he is going is disappointing but I can get over any player moving from on.

What I can't tolerate is the "I'm here for the long gone haul" bullshit. The club are complicit but not wholely to blame.

I could have coped with him signing a new deal then going soon after, but this?

What a twat.

Its happened. Or is about to happen. I'm now looking forward to seeing how the new Villa work together. To change the losing mentality we need a broom and will, erm, go again. Delph didn't lift us above 15th, didn't weigh in with loads of goals, and wasn't our disruptor. He gave us energy and was good with the ball at his feet but I'd be disappointed if he was the only person in world football who possessed energy and quick feet.

Very sad! One again shown me how far modern football has fallen.

Many of us believed his words thinking he and the club had been honest! If he had signed saying he wanted to help us secure safety and ensure if he left we would get a fee that would of been honest. Instead we got lies! Again if he stayed till say post the euros next year and then said I want to move on I would of thought ok honest.

Tbh I'm sick of modern day football and becoming more and more disillusioned of it.

What's happened is just the way it is ATM for Villa were a selling club.

He will soon lose his place in the England Team if he sits on the bench for Man City. Can't see why he would think this would be a good move in his career at this moment (apart from the ££££££ money of course). F*%k him, hope his career turns out like Rodwells if he signs for them.

He isn't good as Milner, Barry or Young.

We'll be fine.

Spot on, he'll end up at Sunderland in 3-4 years time.

I actually think that's very likely. He really is not very good and Man City fans on the radio this morning are very unhappy at signing what they believe is a very sub-standard player for their level. I agree with them.

He could do well up there. Not bothered. If he goes he's dead to me unlike Milner who I still wanted to succeed. Don't want him injured and not fussed if he sits on the bench or plays more than 20/30 games.

I'm not sure you can say he's 'not very good'. He's not good enough for a top 4 club though, well not yet anyway.

They only want him as he's simply English/FFP ballast and they've lost Milner, Richards and Sinclair. They've got a great midfield as it is and they're rumoured to be after de Bruyne. A handful of sub appearances, a few League cup games, and his International games will dry up. His career will follow the same trajectory as Jack Rodwell's

When they sign pogba . Delph will get the odd 15 mins and carling games.

He's left a big club to go to a plastic oil club.

Modern football it is.

I really hope they sign Pogba now.  Revenge is a wasted emotion but I will get pleasure from seeing Delph on the bench and losing his place in the England team.  Man City also need Pogba to give Chelsea something like some competition.

I await his triumphant return on loan to us this time next season, with an option to buy.

Delph is an excellent signing for Man City.  I think he will fulfill the administrative role he was bought for really well.

I feel foolish for believing all that bullshit he came out with when he signed a new deal with us which makes me think he could get a 2nd job as an actor as he wont be getting too involved in his first profession from now on.

I only heard about the sale last night, I am very upset, as I believed in Delph, but his gone and we move further on into mediocrity . for me he has been the stand out player for a few years our midfield now is absolutely non existent, I don't like gambling on bringing in a new player and selling your best player and seeing how it works out, amateurish absolute. my hopes for this season have taken a severe dent.

Really upset.
