He is not a Judas. We finish fourth bottom and he gets to play for a title challenger. Good luck.
You say what you like....to me he is a **** of lowest order.

Me too

And me, in fact I think you're being a tad generous. I hope I never see or hear of him again, not that I give a flying fcuk what happens to him

If someone could load up his little speech again, the one where he says "I'm here for the long term, this is my club, I love being here etc". Really nails the point for me.

Downing, Hodge, Yorke, Unsworth. This is worse. If it happens.

I knew the game was up when he said he was "already over" the Cup Final just 2 weeks after. Not the comments of a Club Captain or a man who claimed that this was "his club"

Well Fab, we will have to remember your part in that spineless effort that day for ever.

I've been incredibly cynical about football for years but I have to admit to being duped by this. If he'd left on a free it really wouldn't have bothered me, but to sign when he were at such a low point under Lambert and then come out with all those wonderful soundbites. At the time I believed it.

For me he joins Hodge, Downing etc.
The best of it is, he'll probably be absolutely bewildered by our reaction and expecting that we'll all understand his reasons.

Even after his comments in January we shouldn't be surprised he's moving on, football merely mirrors the modern day throw away / short attention span society we live in.
People chop and change jobs, partners, phones, cars etc etc far more than they used to, but for some reason we expect our footballers to show the same loyalty they did 50 or 60 years ago.
I'm bitterly disappointed my favourite player is moving to Man City again, but like Barry and Milner before him I can't knock him for wanting to play at the best level he can.
When we sign players we want them to feel they're being ambitious by choosing us, so we can't really expect them to lose that after a few years in claret and blue.

When I heard that the manager told the players they could look for new clubs after the cup final I didn't think he meant the better ones!

It is. Because it was all on him. He made the song and dance did the press conference and interviews with the press about it! He course to do that knowing he had put a pathetic release clause that he knew would be met this summer and all he said was hollow. Just bastard thing to do!

Wanker or not we are fucked without him.

We may or may not be fucked, but it won't be because he's going.

Every single player at the club would do the same.

As soon as players dont want to play for our beloved club I am over them pretty quickly, mid season Pellegrini may well be gone if they are struggling, a new continental coach will come in and it could be curtains for Fabian and his England career before you know it.

Begovic going to Chelsea is the strangest deal in a while. Top keeper but will just waste away there!

What this one. I've put the most pertinent point in bold:

Delph said it "means everything" to continue his B6 association and hailed the chairman, manager and fanbase for making his decision easy.

He said: "The club has given me a great platform to perform and a great opportunity to showcase what I can do.

"The fans have been great with me, the chairman has been absolutely fantastic with me and I have a great relationship with the manager and I see the boys here as my brothers, my family and I am delighted to stay here.

"I am a loyal person and committing my future will hopefully show everybody what type of guy I am.

"I feel like this is me - I love the club, I love being here and I want to put 100% into everything I do here. This is my club and I want to be here. That's why I am committing my future.

"Hopefully it will give everyone a bit of a lift and show the fans that we are looking to do big things here and bring excitement back to the club.

"We want to get through this season, do well and I feel the up-and-coming years will be big.

"There was no way I was going to bail out. I am here for the long run.

"The fans have been the same. I am sure they will stick with us, help us get through this season and then looking into the future, it looks promising to me."
